The Hainan Railway Museum is located in Dongfang

Upon entering the park, the first thing that catches your eye is the construction-type steam locomotive with the number 6499. It is the first mainline locomotive designed by China, with a total length of 29.18 meters. It was officially decommissioned in May 2003. The special service car GW97380 is named Meiling after Soong Mei-ling, who once rode in it. The ND2 type diesel locomotive made in Romania in 1984 was responsible for the passenger and freight traction tasks from Shilu to Sanya, as well as shunting operations. It is one of the representatives that witnessed the Hainan Railway entering the diesel era. The 4K3 type ore car. Dongfang and the nearby Changjiang have very rich ore resources, so this train was specifically used by the Japanese army to transport iron ore. The most special is Exhibition Hall No. 1, because it was the garrison headquarters built by the Japanese army during their occupation of Hainan. Today, it has been converted into the Hainan Railway Museum, reminding us to never forget that heavy history. The park is not large, making it suitable for bringing children to understand the development of the railway and patriotic education.
