Overlooking Labrang Monastery

Located in Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, Gansu Province, Labrang Monastery has a history of more than three hundred years and is one of the largest monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Standing on the top of the Gongtang Pagoda and the Buddha Sunning Platform, one can overlook the panoramic view of Labrang Monastery from different directions. The entire monastery faces south with its back to the north, comprising over 90 halls and more than 10,000 rooms, with the Daxia River flowing around it. Under the blue sky and white clouds, against the red walls and green trees, the beauty of Labrang Monastery is truly stunning.
