An old Edo style town, Kawagoe

#cherryblossom2024 Kawagoe is located 30 minutes away by train from central Tokyo and is suitable to travel day trip. It is built during the Edo period (1603 - 1868) with the clay walled warehouse styled houses called Kurazukuri. Thus, Kawagoe also emerges as the Little Edo. During the Edo period, this town is well known to supply various commodities to Tokyo, and emerges as one of the important point for trade and supplies, and thus the shogun installed some of his loyal men around the Kawagoe Castle. After the Meiji revolution the power of shogun diminishes, and today this town became a tourist spot for those who wants to witness and experience Edo style township.
