Guandu Ancient Town

Kunming Guandu Ancient Town, located in the southeast of Kunming city. Guandu was originally named "Wodong", it is a fishing village on the bank of Dianchi Lake where snail shells are piled up like mountains. During the Song Dynasty, it was renamed "Guandu" because the official ships often docked here. The most famous "Vajra Throne Tower" in Guandu Ancient Town was built in the Ming Dynasty. Among the more than ten existing Vajra towers in China, it is the earliest built and has the longest history.
