On May 12th, after a two-hour drive from Changsha, I arrived at Dawei Mountain National Forest Park in Liuyang City, to encounter a sea of flowers under the stars at sunrise. When I left Changsha, I had no expectations, and it was still a gloomy overcast day when I reached Liuyang City. It even drizzled a little past seven o'clock, but after ten o'clock, the clouds on the mountain began to disperse, revealing the stars. By two o'clock in the morning, the starry sky was clearly visible.
The sunrise came as expected the next morning, and the mountain was extremely clear. The batteries for both the camera and the drone were completely drained!

Admission: 190 yuan + shuttle bus 20 yuan (The shuttle bus operates from 8:00 to 17:30)
Parking is at the Honglian Temple parking lot, now during the Azalea Festival, cars can only park here
The star photography spot is next to the source of the Liuyang River, and the sunrise time is around 5:30 in the morning
The temperature on the mountain is a bit low, about eighteen degrees at night, so it's necessary to wear a jacket

I finally came to the other side of the Anywhere Door, Liyang, and here's a travel guide for Daweishan National Forest Park:
Daweishan National Forest Park is located at the border of Hunan and Jiangxi, about 130 kilometers from Changsha, suitable for self-driving. There are shuttle buses within the scenic area, and it is a national 4A level scenic spot, known as the 'Green Pearl of Eastern Hunan'. It is the season when the rhododendrons are in full bloom, the scenery is pleasant, the landscape is absolutely beautiful, and it's a natural oxygen bar; the rhododendrons against the blue sky and white clouds make the flower sea exceptionally pretty. Climbing high for a broad view, the beautiful scenery is all in sight, which is refreshing and intoxicating, making it an ideal place for leisure and vacation.
Key recommendation for flower viewing is Qixingling, which is the best spot to view the rhododendrons; it is suggested to stay in hotels or homestays within the scenic area, or camp at the camping base to enjoy the fun that nature brings! It's a great place to relax, clear your mind, and can cure all sorts of distractions. You feel completely refreshed, and every casual snapshot is just too beautiful.

Hunan Liuyang Dawei Mountain, a national forest park and national 4A scenic area. The mountaintop is home to wild azaleas, cloud brocade azaleas, purple azaleas, and splendid azaleas, which are concentrated between altitudes of 1300 to 1600 meters, covering an area of more than 10,000 acres. Every May, when the azaleas bloom, the mountains and fields become a red ocean, a spectacular sight. Visitors can stroll in the clouds and wander through the sea of flowers. Summer has begun, and if we don't go now, the flowers might start to fade. We arrived at the top of Dawei Mountain, but the weather was not kind at first.
The fog was thick, with visibility only about ten meters, and it seemed we might really have to 'look at flowers in the fog'; then came the drizzle that just wouldn't stop. Cold, very cold; disappointed, very disappointed! Around two o'clock, a gust of wind blew, the fog dispersed, the rain stopped, and the sun came out! It was time for the azaleas to perform! The mountains were covered with blooming red azaleas. We were treated well by Mother Nature, and it made us incredibly happy!

A great place for family leisure in Liuyang
There are many homestays in Liuyang, and after a long selection, we decided to come to this one. We don't like those internet-famous swimming pools for posing without any practical significance. Unexpectedly, it exceeded expectations. There are a total of 12 rooms, each with its own characteristics. I thought that during the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Festival, the public area would be crowded and noisy, but it was very quiet and comfortable. The small garden and pool in our own yard have a lot of artistic conception, and tea tables are arranged everywhere. You can camp, trace the stream and barbecue by the small stream at the door, which is very suitable for bringing children for leisure. The rooms also have their own characteristics, and the facilities in the room are very complete, with air conditioning, ceiling fans, and floor heating, tea tables and refrigerators, a very leisurely slow life. It's about a two-hour drive from downtown Changsha to reach this beautiful treasure of a homestay!
This is the largest homestay I've ever been to, with few rooms, each with its own unique charm. And it's a renovation of the original adobe houses🏠—not too crowded even on holidays.
The homestay has a stream, which must be very cool in summer, and now the hills are covered with flowers🌸
There is dedicated butler service inside, and the butlers, both the young ladies and the young men, are very enthusiastic and provide excellent service👍.
