A Winter Wonderland

We travelled to Zagreb with the sole intention of visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park, as we had heard that this place ranks top as one of Croatia’s greatest attractions. As soon as we entered the park, we were greeted with a beautiful landscape. The park was blanketed by crystal white snow, majestic waterfalls, and dozens of clear, turquoise-green lakes. We took around 4 to 5 hours to complete hiking trail B (back and forth). It is worthy to note that operating hours are much shorter during Winter and certain parts of the park like the Upper Lakes are closed and hence not accessible. However, just the Lower Lakes itself makes the trip to the park a worthy one as it offers stunning views. Truly a natural paradise in the heart of Europe.
