Looking for the Sleeping Beauty

#2023travelwish Germany is known for its many castles and visiting castles is just what we did while there. One of the most famous castles to visit is the Neuschwanstein Castle as the castle in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty was known to be inspired by it. It was quite a hike up as the castle is located deep in the forest, on a rugged hill in Southwest Bavaria. There are many nature trails to choose from, depending on where you arrive from. The one we chose was a 7km route that was moderately challenging with lots of steep hills to climb. We spent roughly around 4 hours hiking and exploring the castles before heading back to the train station. It was cold, wet and rainy but that did not dampen our spirits as we were excited because we don’t have such architecture in Singapore. It was such a memorable trip and I’ll love to visit Germany and it’s many castles again.
