Liaoning Provincial Museum: An Uncommon Museum

Liaoning Provincial Museum is located at No. 157, Wisdom Three Street, Hunnan District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. It was formerly known as the Northeast Museum and was the first museum established in the new China, later renamed Liaoning Provincial Museum in 1959. The original museum building was converted from the official residence of Tang Yulin, and the Liaoning Museum we visit today was inaugurated in 2015. The new museum covers an area of about 80,000 square meters, with a building area of up to 100,000 square meters. It houses 17 permanent exhibition halls and 5 temporary exhibition halls across three floors of exhibition space, which is quite extensive. If you take your time, you can easily spend a whole day there. Liaoning Provincial Museum is a comprehensive museum with nearly 120,000 pieces in its collection, mainly consisting of archaeological finds from the Liaoning area and historical and artistic relics. These can be further categorized into twenty types, including calligraphy, painting, silk embroidery, bronzes, ceramics, and more. In addition to the exhibition areas, the museum also has an audience service area, cultural relics storage area, cultural relics conservation area, and comprehensive business area.
