It is meant to protect the people from attacks. The old married soldiers quarters is one of the places within the fort canning hill. My hubby and I were surprised to see such a place. It is a place that was build to house married soldiers. The place is almost a century old. As the soldiers have since left Singapore, the place is now used for recreational purposes such as concert or wedding venues. You will pass by the old married soldiers quarters after passing the fort canning gate.
