Traditional Taiwanese Stone Hotpot

I’ve been wanting to have an exclusive experience of traditional Taiwanese stone hotpot at 肥妈石头火锅ever since it opened in Singapore. With its unique entrance mimicking a gigantic vending machine selling old-school Taiwanese snacks and beverages, we were made to miss Taiwan even more badly as we entered the restaurant and saw its entire wall plastered with the vibrant night scene of the famous Raohe Street Night Market 😍 Instead of simply throwing in uncooked ingredients in simmering broth, the lady boss began with the frying of dried cuttlefish in a smoking stone pot sufficiently large to feed us four. Once the aroma was extracted, it was time to involve our selection of vegetables, toufu and raw meat. All were fried to release the savoury juices before the lady boss proceeded to pour clear pork bone broth into the stone pot. Well, the end result tasted amazing, with a much more intense food fragrance than other normal steamboat places. I really enjoyed their 臭豆腐(fried to a crisp golden brown) & 卤肉饭 too! 😋😋😋
