Ulan Bator, is the capital and most populous city of Mongolia. With a population of 1.6 million, it is the coldest capital city in the world by average yearly temperature. The municipality is located in north central Mongolia at an elevation of about 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) in a valley on the Tuul River. The city was founded in 1639 as a nomadic Buddhist monastic centre, changing location 28 times, and was permanently settled at its modern location in 1778. There is a lot of Temples and Monastery in Mongolia. Public bus and taxi fares are pretty cheap to move around.There is no taxi sign for the taxis so whenever i need taxi i have to stand nearby the bus stop and waves to request a taxi service Traffic jam is a daily basis issue in ulaanbatar,so please plan your time accordingly to get one place to another. Public bus transport card can be purchased and top up near the bus stop , just inside a small little shop with "u" signed on top.Pay by cash. You can find a lot of cafes and Korean restaurants in ulaanbatar.You can also find Asian food here,around 7-10 USD per meal in food court . For those like to shop ,please go Narantuul- is a huge open market ( partly indoor partly outdoors) where locals come to buy anything and everything: equipment for horse riding, for the ger, clothings, school supplies etc. As a tourist you will have to negotiate the prices in this market . If you like Cashmere, Mongolia’s most well-known Gobi cashmere brand, has moved into a flagship store at Galleria, a shopping centre near Sukhbaatar Square, a major city landmark flanked by imposing government buildings.#ulaanbatar
