An Unexpected Bird’s Eye View Over Xi’an

This well-preserved and ancient building was a last minute stop during my trip in Xi'an, I didn't really expect much from it so left it as a "if I have time" item on my to visit list while touring the city. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the experience there. Located just 4km from downtown Xi'an, you can find the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in the Da Ci'en Temple complex. The surrounding garden area is pretty in itself to visit, especially if you're graced with good weather. But while here I would definitely make the effort to go up to the top of the pagoda if you can! Inside the building there are stairs that twist up, and lead you to a point where you can overlook that part of the city with quite a surprising panoramic view.
