Qionghai National Tourism Resort

Qionghai, located in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is the second largest freshwater lake in Sichuan Province, formerly known as Qiongchi, and is an early Quaternary rift lake. Its shape is like a snail, stretching 11.5 kilometers from north to south, 5.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a circumference of 35 kilometers, and a water area of about 30 square kilometers; the average depth of the lake is 14 meters, with the deepest point at 34 meters; the water surface elevation is between 1507.14 and 1509.28 meters; the water level fluctuation is small, with a catchment area of about 27 square kilometers. In terms of water system, it belongs to the Anning River, a tributary of the Yalong River, which is a branch of the Jinsha River, a main stream of the Yangtze River, and the lake water drains into the Anning River.
