The Baoding Governor-General's Office Museum

The Governor-General's Office, also known as the Governor-General's Department, is located at No. 301 Yuhua Road, Lianchi District, Baoding City, Hebei Province, covering an area of 30,000 square meters. It is a well-preserved Qing Dynasty provincial government office in China. The original building was constructed during the Yuan Dynasty, and in the early Ming Dynasty, it served as the Baoding Prefecture government office. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, it was converted into the Daning Governor's Office, and in the early Qing Dynasty, it was changed to the office of a military deputy governor. In the eighth year of the Yongzheng era (1730), after extensive expansion, the Governor-General's Office was officially established. It witnessed the reigns of eight emperors: Yongzheng, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng, Tongzhi, Guangxu, and Xuantong, and can be regarded as a microcosm of the Qing Dynasty's history.
