Piyun Tower, situated on the western section of the ancient city wall, was originally built in the third year of the Zhenghe reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (1113). The current Piyun Tower was rebuilt in 1989, standing 19.3 meters tall. Its exterior design is modeled after the Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi, the Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei, and the Feiyun Tower in Shanxi. The interior structure is a three-story reinforced concrete, imitation-wood structure with arched doorways. The roof is a hipped roof with a cross-ridge structure, covering an area of ​​300 square meters. Ascending the tower, one can enjoy panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. Two sets of wax figures are currently displayed inside the tower. The first floor features a sculpture depicting "Bao Gong on His Inspection Tour"; the second floor houses a lifelike sculpture of "Emperor Yongli of the Southern Ming Dynasty in Zhaoqing," and the rooftop exhibits pictures and calligraphy about the building's history.
