Before visiting Zhijin Cave, I had been to Fengdu's Snow Jade Cave and Wulong's Furong Cave. Although these two caves are magnificent and colorful in their own right, they do not compare to the grand scale, diverse forms, and numerous wonders of Zhijin Cave. Zhijin Cave is a karst cave system that is complete in all aspects: category, form, stage, and level. It can be described with three words: big, strange, and complete. Contemporary writer Feng Mu once exclaimed after visiting Zhijin Cave, "There is no other cave under heaven like Zhijin Cave." Whenever I go to a place, I always look for traces of inscriptions first. On the stone carving corridor outside Zhijin Cave, I found inscriptions left by many famous people who were all captivated by this most beautiful underground karst cave. Walking down from the entrance of Zhijin Cave, the winding path is about 6 kilometers long in total, with about 22 spectacular sights in the cave.
