Tranquil and quiet garden in SG
Nice location to gather with friends and family to enjoy the tranquility of this Hort Park. It’s quite a big park and not very crowded. There are two restaurants to visit and they serve pretty good food. For gardening lovers, there is also a small shop to buy your gardening items and equipment. Recommend to visit! It’s a place where many couples take their wedding photography too. Though the size is smaller than the Botanic Gardens, it offers a reasonable amount of space for recreational activities. It’s also a recommended place to take photos and immerse yourself in the garden with beautiful plants and flowers

Beautifully-designed garden way from the buzz
Getting There - by bus 51, 61, 93, 97, 100, 166, 963 from Harbourfront Station or Labrador Park Station
This garden is right in the urban Singapore. The further one ventures in, the more quiet it becomes and we really enjoy the tranquility here.
The park is a one-stop hub for everything related to gardening. There are regular workshops conducted like how to make your own terrarium. There are some fun activities for kids too.
Best of all, from here you can wander around the rest of the Southern Ridges nearby, which provides an awesome city view. Or you can come even explore Telok Blangah Hill Park and Labrador Nature Reserve

Parks and gardens in the south
Hort Park is known for its various gardens to allow visitors to escape from the bustle of city life. Before covid, there used to be educational workshops and activities open to the public for participation and allow them to learn more about plants and nature.
Explore the various themed gardens maintained by NParks and take in the calm and serenity especially during non peak hours. Some of the gardens allow interaction and fun for both adults and children alike. The park is also a popular spot for joggers to run past the gardens and take in the fresh air too.
It has community gardens where gardening enthusiasts love planting their greens. These plots of land are open to the residents for purchase to flex their green fingers. Just do not be tempted to pluck the fruits of their labour though!

🌸❣️Alexandra Forest Trail
#cherryblossom2024
We went to Alexandra Village to do the hike through the trail and chanced upon this healthcare facility. It still remains the olden structure from the past but has been retrofitted into a healthcare facility. It was also the Christmas season and was decorated with many festive cheers. This forested area is connected to the Alexandra Connector Park and you can hike all the way until Henderson waves via Hort Park. We enjoy hiking too and this is a new place we discover during one of our hikes. It has many greenery and the air also feel fresher. We will continue our hike to other places.

Plan your hikes around the 3rd Saturday every month. There will be talks, workshops and guided tours at HortPark on every 3rd Saturday of the month. Usually the talk starts at 9am, so you need to start walking from 6.30am. That if you plan to start walking from Kent Ridge or Marang trail. If you reach early to can have breakfast or coffee at the Canopy Café. There is a few glass houses that plant flowers. So many pretty blooms. There flowers are actually cultivated for specific functions and events. At the carpark before walking towards the canopy walk there is bushes of Jasmine plant. There is different types of Jasmine plants exist. All I know is Jasmine plant. I didn't know about arabian jasmine, white jasmine, common jasmine....

It is very easy to come to Hort Park and you can even continue hiking towards Henderson waves and Mount Faber. I even hike back to Travelodge Harborfront where I am having a staycation over there. Be prepared to immerse yours with a lot of landscaping in this hiking trail. I will suggest you come after 4pm, take your time and walk slowly for 3 hours and stop at Henderson waves to admire the sunset. There are also plenty of rest points for you to take a break, rest your feet before continuing with the hike. In fact, this is nature's playground filled with interesting flora and fauna along the way. At some parts of the hikes, there are playgrounds too. You can stopover and try it out yourself. Oh yes, picnics are also allowed but you will have to bring everything yourself on the hike. Just remember to wear mosquito repellent.
