Hiroshima Peace Park The Peace Park is located next to the Genbaku Dom Mae Tram Stop, in the center of Hiroshima City. The park was laid out in memory of the tragic events of the atomic bombing. About 300 sakura trees are planted around the park along the riverbank. Hiroshima Castle Hiroshima Castle is a 10-minute walk from Kamiyachio Tram Station. Hiroshima Castle has been rebuilt from the ruins. More than 450 sakura trees have been planted here. The best way to admire sakura is to walk around the castle. The entrance is free around the castle (climb to the tower 360 yen). Shukkei Garden The Shukkei Garden is a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Station (entrance fee 250 yen). There are more than 200 sakura trees planted in the garden. The garden is a traditional Japanese landscape garden, picturesque at any time of the year, especially during the cherry blossom season. Next to the Atomic Bomb Dome is the Origami Crane Tower, which has an admission fee of 2200 yen and is relatively expensive, but the observation deck offers a panoramic view of Hiroshima city. If you extend your walk a little further along the river, you can see the Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima soccer stadium, which just opened in March 2024.

Getting There - Get on Hiroshima Dentettsu Tram and drop off at nearby stations such as Genbaku done Stn, Chuden-Mae Stn, etc. You can get on tram from Hiroshima Stn if you arrive at Hiroshima by Shinkansen. Attractions - Peace memorial park and museum, Atomic bomb dome, Miyajima island (must-go). Hotels - Plenty of hotels to choose from. For economical one, you may choose hotel like Hotel S-plus Hiroshima where you can get cheap breakfast buffet for only ¥500 and all-day free coffee. Many hotels in the area may offer similar services. If you plan to go to Miyajima Island and stay downtown, do ask for 1-day tram ticket purchase at hotel fronts. Food & Restaurants - Sanukiya The Heiwa Odori Branch for udon noodles, Okonomimura (okonomiyagi village) for okonomiyaki.
