#Quanzhou Bell Tower Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Quanzhou Bell Tower is a very artistic and historic place which is hustling and hustling with tourists. It's a busy area with easy access with multiple public buses. Taking a walk through this area is a treat itself as you come across so many other tourists and get to taste many different kinds of food along the street nearby. #GiveThanks

4 Days 3 Nights! Quanzhou Travel Guide!
4 Days 3 Nights! Quanzhou Travel Guide!||Actually, it's more like 3 days and 3 nights!
💖day1
✨Arrive in the evening, check into Yuehua Hotel! The location of Yuehua is great, very convenient for ordering takeout! You must try the licorice fruit first!
💖day2
✨Early in the morning, head to Xunpu Village to take photos with hairpins, having booked the travel photography in advance! The village is full of specific references, just like the article I wrote before about hairpins✨In the afternoon, return to eat Stan's ginger duck, which is really amazing and delicious! Even the ginger tastes great!!
✨After dinner, stroll around West Street to check in at the church, Wudian Market, Goldfish Alley, Bell Tower, East and West Towers, and so on, all very close to each other, Citywalk satisfies all check-ins! You can also take the Little White, 2r to ride at will! For photos, we went to Koi Coffee, where you can see the crowds on West Street from the rooftop, and for photos... you have to wait a long time... As for the coffee, it's just very average.
✨The dripstone beasts at West Street's Koi Goods are so worth buying, I bought maybe seven or eight or nine
✨You must have the buffet breakfast at Yuehua Hotel! You can taste many authentic local delicacies! The taste is also incredibly good! Very popular!
💖day3
✨🍠Found a chartered car on the spot, 500r a day, because we were going to Wulin, Luoji Temple, and Fushi Hidden Land! It feels more cost-effective with more people! But if you take a taxi, you worry it's not easy to hail and the distance doesn't seem much less than chartering a car!
✨Return to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel! The Intercontinental is far, poor soundproofing, average service, apart from the good view from the window, there's nothing else! Cost-performance is average!
💖day4
✨Specialty shopping day! The supermarket under the Intercontinental is great to browse! I don't really like the orange sugar, it varies from person to person! But the price of 2r a pack is indeed touching!✨If there's room in your suitcase, buy as many crispy mangoes as you can! They are really delicious! No need for plum powder, just incredibly tasty! And only 10r each! Super cost-effective! Bought four, really should have bought more!!! Highly recommended!
✨Don't forget to have another cup of Hu Jian at the airport at the end!
Quanzhou has been really hot lately! But it's really worth it! Love it!
I have personally tested the popular photo spots for tourists in Quanzhou! No detours

I've been eating, eating, and snapping photos nonstop with Bao since we arrived in Quanzhou. We tried the local delicacies recommended by friends from Quanzhou, which were super satisfying, very affordable, and delicious! (I feel like I've become half a Quanzhou local, special thanks to General Hong and General Wei for their strong support) The area centered around the Kaiyuan Temple/Clock Tower in Quanzhou was our main playground. We traveled off-peak, so it wasn't too crowded. Whether visiting attractions or eating, we didn't have to wait long, and the experience was very good. Personally, I felt that the most crowded places were near the Wen Temple and Guan Yue Temple, where it was a bit congested, but not chaotic. I can't help but exclaim: "Lord Guan, your popularity is truly booming!"
Quanzhou offers the option to ride small orange electric bikes, which makes getting around very convenient, except for being a bit pricey. Additionally, some streets are blocked off to motor vehicles, so you can opt for the small white buses that really do stop on a wave, very convenient, and the big buses are surprisingly cheap, only 1 yuan per ride.
We stayed in Quanzhou for two days, and the weather was unpredictable, but it didn't affect our travel, and it was still acceptable. We didn't visit Guipu Zan Hua, but those interested really should try it out; it would probably be very photogenic if the weather is good, haha. It's worth mentioning that we also checked in at many interesting niche photo spots. Seeing Quanzhou from different angles is truly beautiful.
Checked in Quanzhou for three days and two nights
First day's itinerary
Got a ticket for 11 am, arrived at 2 pm, took a taxi to the guesthouse (super convenient right near West Street!! Very clean and newly opened, the owner is very nice and enthusiastic, there's free mineral water on the first floor, unlimited haha)
Arrived at the hotel around 3 pm, did makeup for 2 hours, left before 4:30 pm
First stop West Street, food check-in
Auntie's Chicken Ribs (No. 81 West Street)/Hou Grandma's Rice Dumplings/Mianxianhu
Wu's Handmade Mochi (No. 94 West Street) so-so / Little Xi Shasate (pot-wrapped meat)
Lao Ice Coffee/Youli Rooftop Cafe/Berry Superwind Milk Tea (eat whatever else looks good)
Second stop Bell Tower
Next to the Bell Tower is a dragon named Pula, good for photos; opposite the Bell Tower Department Store is a big Quanzhou billboard for photo check-ins; (just in time to circle back to the hotel)
Second day's itinerary
First stop Zan Hua
Got up, did makeup, left at 11 am for Zan Hua (passed by West Street to buy some snacks)
We chose Zan Hua and clothing for 80 yuan, brought a tripod to take photos ourselves
Photo spots
1. Kaiyuan Temple-Zhenguo Tower (Open hours 6 am-11 am, 3 pm to 6 pm)
After visiting, you can go to the second floor of the tourist center for photo check-ins
It takes about an hour to visit, great for photos, wear Zan Hua for the shoot
2. Chengtian Temple (Open hours 6:30 am-5:50 pm)
Great for photos, Zan Hua photo session ends around 6 pm
Second stop Jia Xiang Ginger Duck, about 50 yuan per person
Right after taking photos at Chengtian Temple, the specialty shop is just outside!
Third day's itinerary
Slept in! Went to Guanyue Temple, fortune slips for 2 yuan each (heard they're very effective)
Then went to West Street for some snacks
Brought back some specialties, highly recommend the seaweed cakes, delicious!! (shown in the last photo) Took the high-speed train home at 3 pm
Additional info: There are small white cars near West Street and those attractions, just wave and they'll stop, transportation is quite convenient, and there are also many shared bikes!!
Overall, the three days were packed and quite joyful haha
At the end of March this year, I finally arrived at the place where the gods are said to dwell among humans
The biggest impression is:
In Quanzhou, the most expensive thing is not food or drink, but accommodation. A shabby B&B costs about 200 yuan per night!!!
Transportation: It is recommended to choose Quanzhou Station. A taxi ride to West Street is about 25 yuan, which is very convenient.
Accommodation: I do not recommend the B&Bs inside West Street, which are expensive and small with average conditions; it is better to choose hotels on the edge of the ancient city.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Kaiyuan Temple -> West Street -> Bell Tower -> Xiangfeng Alley
Day 2: Xiaoxi Cheng -> West Street -> Chengtian Zen Temple -> Confucian Temple -> Qingjing Temple -> Guanyue Temple -> Goldfish Alley -> Flower Alley
Day 3: Experience hairpin flower photography on West Street -> Return trip
Gourmet:
1 Taro cake opposite the Mustard Bookstore, it smells super fragrant on the roadside. The original flavor is 10 yuan for 3 pieces, and it's really delicious! Passersby who smell it find it fragrant!
2 Pan Gong marinated noodles with added squid, shrimp, and clams taste okay, and it's very crowded, requiring queuing
3 Floating cakes seem to be fried, smell very fragrant, and taste not bad!
4 Beef noodles near the vegetable market, a beef noodle shop, although a bit small in portion, tastes good, the beef is tender, and the noodles are fragrant
5 Tusan Dong bought from a roadside stall, has a Q-bouncy and smooth texture, and is cool
6 Marinated meat roll cake passed by a roll cake shop, saw a young lady buying, just hungry and wanted to try, added spicy, super delicious! The meat and vegetables are very rich!
7 Marinated chicken feet passed by a marinated shop, saw an aunt buying, smelled fragrant, 28 yuan per jin!
8 Hu Jian classic model Xiatianxia: Winter melon tea as the base with added watermelon pieces, taro paste, sea stone flower (texture like bird's nest), and crispy bubbles. Overall, the taste is very rich and the ingredients are sufficient, feeling very refreshing
9 Mianxian Hu: At Aqing Snack Shop in Haogou Alley, went out in the morning and passed by, saw many locals eating inside, so I went in, the taste is super delicious! Youtiao wrapped with Mianxian Hu, super delicious!
10 Ginger duck: In the old shop in the vegetable market - Yupin Ginger Duck, passed by and asked, it smelled very fragrant, half for 55, suitable for one person!
Quanzhou's lasting appeal is really strong, and I can't forget it for a long time after coming back
In the evening, just slip on your flip-flops and step out to explore the delicious food of Quanzhou West Street B&B
In the evening, just slip on your flip-flops and step out to explore the delicious food of Quanzhou West Street B&B.
The last photo has a surprise! There's an Easter egg at the end of the article.
Half of the city is bustling with life, and the other half is like a fairy tale. After the successful application for World Heritage, Quanzhou, this thousand-year-old city, has finally become a hot spot! When traveling to Quanzhou, you must stay in a local B&B to deeply experience the authentic life and atmosphere of ancient Quanzhou.
The B&B is renovated from a traditional Southern Fujian residence, preserving the Minnan charm of the old architecture while incorporating Nanyang style. It is in an especially advantageous location, only 150 meters from West Street, a 2-minute walk; and just 200 meters from the Great Kaiyuan Temple. It's also not far from attractions like the Bell Tower, Zhongshan Road, the Prefectural Temple, Qingjing Temple, Guandi Temple, and others.
There are also too many local delicacies and snacks nearby, such as Zeng's Old Remember Noodle Paste, Bafanglin Quanzhou Restaurant, Uncle Wu's Handmade Mochi, Auntie's Chicken Racks, Chunge Teppanyaki, Kangzhuang Pancakes, and more. In the evening, just slip on your flip-flops and step out to explore.
Although the B&B is not far from the bustling West Street, it is particularly quiet. As you enter the courtyard, you'll find a quaint little garden with winding paths. Potted green plants are carefully placed in every corner by the owner, and there's even a frangipani tree in the yard, filling the air with its fragrance. Under the frangipani tree, there's a small tea table, perfect for brewing tea and chatting.
The open-air terrace on the second floor offers a wide view, where you can see the Kaiyuan Temple's Zhenguo Tower not far away. A long table is ideal for a group of people to gather, not only for tea and chats but also for playing small games. This is the life many people yearn for!
How can one not make a trip to Quanzhou
If you only have 2 days, I recommend you visit here
This old city, as a World Cultural Heritage site,
is a city of faith, half veiled in misty rain and half celestial.
It is the treasure of a small city that I still want to travel to.

📍2-day 1-night itinerary
DAY1: Quanzhou Station▸Chengtian Temple▸Bell Tower▸Kaiyuan Temple▸Xiangfeng Alley▸West Street
DAY2: Guanyue Temple▸Qingjing Mosque▸Confucian Temple▸Zhongshan Street▸Return trip
.
🚦Quanzhou Transportation
✈️Plane: Quanzhou has Jinjiang International Airport, with airport buses available outside the airport
🚄High-speed rail: You can choose high-speed rail, cities within Fujian Province can be reached by high-speed rail from cities like Xiamen and Fuzhou
.
🏕️Great Quanzhou attractions to visit
❶West Street: As Quanzhou's calling card, West Street was built during the Song Dynasty and is the most completely preserved cultural and historical district with a thousand years of history
❷Kaiyuan Temple: The stunning East and West Pagodas are the most completely preserved stone carvings and pagodas in China, and also an important Buddhist architecture
❸Zhongshan Street: Features century-old Qinqi buildings, constructed on the basis of absorbing Nanyang style
❹Chengtian Temple: One of the three major Buddhist monasteries in Quanzhou, the incarnation place of Master Hongyi, serene and profound

.
🫖Delicious Quanzhou cuisine

❸Mianxian Hu: Anli Shuimen Guozai's non-miss choice, classic intestine pairing, every bite is satisfying
❹Siguotang: Super many ingredients, for those who like it cold, add shaved ice, no matter the season, just show off a bowl
❺Binlang Taro Paste: Taro paste with added lard, soft and smooth texture, delicious
❻Peanut Soup: Delicious and soft peanut soup, sweet and tasty
❼Auntie's Chicken Ribs: Salty and sweet flavor, I can keep nibbling non-stop
.
🛵For a stroll in the old town area of Quanzhou, shared electric scooters or bicycles are recommended to experience the city. The attractions are not far, only one or two kilometers apart, and the narrow streets of the old town area make parking inconvenient. The main mode of transportation for locals is electric scooters
🚎If you can't ride, you can also choose the 🚎bus unique to the old town area, 'Little White Reservation' on the WeChat mini-program. Search for it, only 2 yuan per person! Just enter your destination, and the driver will automatically contact you
Quanzhou trip, convince one by one! It's really fun, no regrets series!

During the spring outing season, traveling in Quanzhou, I encountered flowers accompanying the dining table and the mountains and seas along the journey
When the breakfast table is filled with fresh flowers,
the spring journey truly begins...
March, early spring, you must be looking for that place where you can relax your body and mind, choose a city that is perfect for an off-peak holiday, to be romantic or carefree. Well, I think this might just be the place where you can face the sea, bathe in the sunlight, feel the breeze on your face, and enjoy the peaceful years... Of course, there are also old streets, delicious food, hairpins, bell towers... So remember to leave a big space for Quanzhou in your travel collection folder~ I believe that in this flower-appreciating season, you will definitely find unexpected, hopeful, and romantically beautiful happy times here~

Quanzhou City walk eating, living, and travel guide, remember it!
Quanzhou is so good to stroll around!!!
The weather has been comfortable these days, a three-day two-night tour
The basic itinerary is one day in Xunpu Village taking photos
Two days in the city area eating and strolling around🥳
👫Tour: West Street Bell Tower, Guanyue Temple, Kaiyuan Temple, Tianhou Palace, Qingjing Temple in the city area, puppet show is worth watching, it is better to grab the front row tickets one week in advance, ticket price 80/50/30. Xunpu Village, Luoga Temple, etc. outside the city area.
🏨Accommodation: It's very convenient near West Street
🚗Transportation: It is not recommended to drive or take a taxi in the old city area, the roads are not big, and the traffic is crowded during holidays. ⚠️It is recommended to use a small white car (stop when you wave, the fare is two yuan per person without a specific route, tell the driver the destination when you get on the car) / or small orange travel (convenient, return at the parking point, similar to an electric car) within 3-5 kilometers of West Street
🍱Food: (The following only represents personal taste)
1. Line paste outside Shuimen Guozi (it is recommended to pair with fried dough sticks, it's very delicious)
2. Stan Ginger Duck Main Store (It is recommended to go early during the tourist peak meal time, 120 yuan for a duck, a little salty, other than that, it's delicious)
3. Hou's Grandma's Zongzi East Street Main Store (The signature scallop zongzi added with peanut butter, sweet and salty taste can try)
4. Dongxing Beef Shop (The signature is mixed noodles, steak, beef soup, mixed noodles with peanut butter sweet and salty taste not used to it)
5. Bingzhengtang Four Fruit Soup (Delicious! Small bowl 9 yuan large bowl 12 choose your own ingredients)
6. Pan Palace Braised Noodles (To be honest, I'm not used to it, the base is beef, pork noodles plus your own ingredients, sweet and salty taste added with peanut butter)
7. Auntie's Chicken Frame in West Street (3 pm in the afternoon, delicious! Waited for half an hour)
8. Taro cake (I've eaten several shops, it's delicious when it's just out of the oven)
9. Lin's Fried Vinegar Meat (The taste is okay, it's a snack to try)
10. Bamboo Shoot Jelly (It's okay with sauce)
11. Brother Chun's Teppanyaki (The taste is okay, fried, ginkgo is delicious, rice cake is flattened and then coated with a layer of white sugar outside)
📷The photo check-in positions are basically in the small alleys or shops of the West Street Bell Tower
City C Debut Plan/Quanzhou Bell Tower
The bell tower can definitely be considered the C position of Quanzhou city, located in the middle of West Street, East Street, and Zhongshan Road. Having stayed in Quanzhou for a few days, I passed by many times every day. The bell tower was built in 1934, all in white, with a unique style, a fusion of Western and Minnan style, and is one of the iconic buildings of Quanzhou. It is also a traffic signal light. The bell on the bell tower seems to have a problem, or it has a special meaning, always stuck at 12 o'clock.

City C Debut Plan | Zhenfu Lane, Quanzhou, the residence of Huang Zonghan, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi
| Zhenfu Lane, Quanzhou, the residence of Huang Zonghan, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi.
Zhenfu Lane in the ancient city of Quanzhou is the residence of Huang Zonghan, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi and the Minister of Five Ports in the Qing Dynasty. The Milu Cultural and Creative Park and Ye Yigen's Western-style building are also in this lane.
To visit Zhenfu Lane, you need to distinguish between Zhenfu Lane and Zhenfu Si Lane. Zhenfu Lane connects Zhongshan Middle Road, near Chengtian Temple; Zhenfu Si Lane connects Zhongshan North Road, near Weiyuan Building. These two lanes in Quanzhou are related to the Zhenfu Si of the Ming Dynasty's Jinyiwei.
Zhenfu Lane in Quanzhou, west to Zhongshan Middle Road, east to Furui Lane, only about 200 meters.
The section of Zhenfu Lane near Zhongshan Road is mainly clothing stores and snack bars. There are homestays, coffee shops, beverage shops, restaurants, experience halls, etc. in the Milu Cultural and Creative Park. It is a good cultural and tourism leisure place.
Huang Zonghan's former residence and Ye Yigen's Western-style building are located in the middle of Zhenfu Lane. These two are the main historical buildings in the lane. However, they have not been developed for tourism, and tourists cannot enter.
There is a "Dasi Ma" stele outside Huang Zonghan's former residence, which is very conspicuous, but this Dasi Ma is not Huang Zonghan's official position (this position has been abolished after the Southern and Northern Dynasties), but a nickname among scholars in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
When visiting Zhenfu Lane, in addition to understanding the cultural history of Quanzhou, you can also find some interesting cultural and creative small gifts here, enjoy the ancient city of Quanzhou on the Milu rooftop, and even stay in the homestay here.

When you come to Quanzhou, you must visit West Street, take a look at the Republic of China Clock Tower, and taste the sesame field snails
Quanzhou West Street,
Located in Licheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province,
It is the oldest street in Quanzhou,
As early as the Song Dynasty, it represented the prosperity of Quanzhou,
It is also the most intact ancient street in Quanzhou city,
Starting from Chengxi Road in the west and ending at Zhongshan Road in the east,
In addition to Kaiyuan Temple, East and West Towers, Chengxin Tower, celebrity houses, clock tower, and modern foreign buildings,
It also retains a large number of unique ancient houses,
The group of ancient wooden buildings,
It is simply a living 'Architectural Museum'.
The West Street Clock Tower was built in the 24th year of the Republic of China (AD 1935),
It is the most representative building of West Street,
Although there is no beautiful design,
But the overall simplicity, bright lines,
The upper part is round,
Equipped with a glass-covered watch and wind direction indicator,
The clock time is very accurate, so it is called 'Old Quanzhou'.
The clock here was once the only public clock in Quanzhou,
The crossroads where the clock tower is now is also one of the busiest sections in Quanzhou.
The entire West Street is mostly Fujian-style arcade buildings,
There are many small shops on the street, but the taste is good,
The specialty sesame field snails and stir-fried field snails of the Field Snail King are very worth a try.
