SHENZHEN CIVIC CENTER!
Visiting Shenzhen Civic Center was an incredible experience. This landmark showcases the city’s modernity and serves as its administrative hub. The striking architecture of the Convention and Exhibition Center and Shenzhen Library is amazing.
Surrounding the Civic Center, I discovered beautiful green spaces like Lianhuashan Park. The park’s lush gardens, serene lakes, and breathtaking views of the city skyline were a perfect retreat.
Visiting Shenzhen Civic Center was an unforgettable journey into the heart of the city’s modernity. Its blend of architecture, culture, and vibrant atmosphere truly encapsulates Shenzhen’s dynamic spirit.

Shenzhen lights by night
The Shenzhen Civic Center building is almost certainly the most Iconic building in Shenzhen, the huge sloped roof over the large arch in a pi symbol shape is truly unlike any other building. Located near the civic center subway stop and close to the huge 600m ping an financial building. The civic center building houses visa offices, government headquarters and a large cultural museum in which you can learn the history of China, see some exhibitions of animals, artifacts, art and more.
There are two squares located north and south of the civic center, my pictures show the south square which is a large empty square with an amazing view of the civic center and surrounding city skyscrapers. At night there are various lights around the square and in the floor giving it a surreal ambience.
This is a great place to watch the yearly light shows that are shown in the run up to spring festival for several months.
Definitely a place worth seeing if you like modern architecture and the wonders of a modern metropolis.
Central square at Civic Center, Shenzhen
A square located on both sides of the large and iconic Civic Center building in the center of Futian district, Shenzhen. This is similar to a park and is a popular area for people to hang out, kids to play and people to relax and eat/drink.
Located nearby this square is the large shenzhen book mall, a large theater, the Childrens Palace and a medium sized mall.
There are many trees, statues and features in this park, including a fish pond, large water feature wall and several stone paths for walking around the square. There are large open areas where many parents will allow their children to play together. There are also vending machines and fresh orange juice dispensing robots, as well as many restaurants on either sides of the square.
The square is located a short distance from Lianhuashan park.
Leaving the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning, the opposite is the Youth Palace. Of course, this is of little interest to me as an adult. The Shenzhen Library, which is not far from here, is my next target, with the scorching sun. It is cool and rests a little. It turns out that it is Shenzhen Book City. There are many small cultural and creative exhibition areas. Of course, there are more commercial shops. There are also many food and dining areas. I have browsed the foreign currency and calligraphy exhibitions of various countries. There is a large-scale exchange meeting in the theme of the book city. It seems that there are writers and scholars who are telling their own creative history! On the square outside the book city, the band performance is also watching a lot of people stop to stay!
Broadly speaking, the Shenzhen Civic Center consists of the Shenzhen People's Government, the Shenzhen Hall, the Shenzhen Museum, etc. The Dapeng Spreading Wing from the red and yellow columns in the distance is. The two towers are used for the archives and the General Assembly Hall. The opposite Ping An Building is the tallest building in Shenzhen. The so-called Shennan Yi Cai is the middle section here!
Watching the performances of various band singers during the day and watching the colorful light show at night, the people of Shenzhen are also very happy. It and the Lianhuashan Park set up the central axis of Shenzhen's city center. During the day, you can go to the Contemporary Art Planning Museum and the Shenzhen Library on the left and right sides, or stop by the square band to enjoy a few familiar Cantonese songs! If you can't climb Lotus Hill Park in the evening, wait for the light show in the square! Hungry, there are various types of restaurants in the bookstore to satisfy your taste buds! So, it is too convenient!

A hidden modern-era mansion, the Gu family residence
The Gu family residence is located in Qigan Village, Zhoupu Town, Pudong, Shanghai, and was built during the Daoguang period (around 1830), taking over a decade to complete. The mansion has a total of 28 rooms, covering more than 2 acres of land. The Gu family residence features a main hall with five rooms, a front hall with five rooms, two wing rooms on each side, and a square courtyard in the middle. Corridors connect all sides, with secret passages between the front hall and the wing rooms, and between the rear hall and the wing rooms, allowing passage for people within the residence. There are also covered rooms on the east and west sides, with long north-south corridors. Both ends of the corridors are fitted with reliable wooden doors, making it one of the better-preserved Qing Dynasty residential houses in the Pudong New Area.
Transportation guide: Take the Pudong 99 bus or the Nanxin special line to Qigan Village station, and walk more than 400 meters to arrive.
The City Hall in the heart of Shenzhen
Shenzhen Civic Center is the new heart of Shenzhen in the Futian district. The city hall is the most remarkable building in this area with a wing roof in the shape of a mythical bird named Dapeng.🦚

Architectural wonders in Shenzhen
The Shenzhen Civic Center is the administrative heart of the city and an iconic landmark within the area. As Shenzhen is such a young city it was built with a master plan for its future, the grid system is really impressive with this amazing civic Center at the core.
It’s the biggest open space in the downtown area with the city built up around it on all sides, it’s the perfect place to take in just how impressive Shenzhen is.
The open space spreads from the bottom of Lianhacun park right down to the downtown malls, so you can take a leisurely stroll through the civic Center and then head for food.
Within the Center there’s a part of the Shenzhen museum along side a technology museum dedicated to the development of manufacturing around the city.
There are plenty of restaurants, toilets and shops around the outside of the Center and underground in the numerous metro stations that serve the area.
Head to Civic Center station or children’s palace Station on the metro and follows the signs
