1️⃣ Wat Arun
Also known as the 'Temple of Dawn,' one of Bangkok's landmarks, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. If you don't have time to go inside, you can book a scenic restaurant across the river or go to a free platform to watch the sunset, which is absolutely beautiful🌅 (ps. Restaurant view seats need to be booked in advance)
2️⃣ Wat Traimit's Giant Buddha
A new landmark in Bangkok, a 6-meter-tall pure copper Buddha that seems to be meditating🧘 The classic photo spot is in the alley and by the water
3️⃣ Bangkok Skywalk (Location: Bangkok Art and Culture Centre)
The graffiti skywalk in Bangkok that went viral on the internet is right next to Siam Square, with many shopping malls nearby. After checking in, it's perfect for shopping. The biggest Big C is also nearby, search on the map🔍 'Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri'
4️⃣ Bubble In The Forest
A super🔥 cafe in Bangkok that's like a mini Maldives, the environment is really🉑, and the photos turn out amazing📷. Drinks start at over 100🐷, with no minimum charge. If you don't book in advance, you may have to wait, and if you want fewer people in your photos, it's recommended to arrive right when they open in the morning
5️⃣ After The Rain
A tropical rainforest cafe, only a 10-minute drive from the mini Maldives. There's a super long coconut palm canal where you can row for free, full of vacation vibes! The prices are very affordable, we had food + drinks, and it was only 150🐷 per person
6️⃣ Chinatown
The filming location of 'Detective Chinatown'🎬 One of the busiest commercial areas in downtown Bangkok, with lots of delicious food at friendly prices. At night, the neon signs light up, and it feels great to take long-exposure photos

Checking in at Thailand's New Landmark | The Great Buddha of Wat Hua Lamphong in Bangkok
After opening, I headed straight to Thailand and discovered a new landmark in Bangkok—the Great Buddha of Wat Hua Lamphong, a staggering 66 meters tall pure gold Buddha!
📍Location: Southwest of Bangkok, about 7 kilometers from the city center.
🎫Price: Currently free to visit
🌈Tour Tips: Because the Buddha statue is huge, you can take photos of the Great Buddha from different angles even a kilometer away. Just navigate to 833 Thanon Thoet Thai, Talat Phlu, Thon Buri, Bangkok 1060, to check in and take pictures.
This is also where the boat tours are located, just a little further inside. If you can't find it, the locals in the alley will kindly guide you. The boat tour costs 200 Thai Baht per person for half an hour. You can rent a boat with two or three people and try to bargain the price 🤣.
Seeing the Great Buddha, you can freely check in around the one-kilometer vicinity of the Buddha. I didn't specifically look for some popular photo spots; I just took pictures wherever I went, and also got to experience the local life.
After walking around the perimeter of the Great Buddha, I entered the temple of the Great Buddha. Those with a fear of huge objects should be cautious; the Great Buddha is incredibly large and overwhelming, giving a very strong sense of oppression. Inside, the Relic Stupa is also worth a visit. I recommend going directly to the 5th floor, where you can see the magnificent roof, with many locals praying.
Exiting the stupa, you can also see the full view of the back of the Great Buddha. A strong sensory experience!
The photo spot for the Great Buddha at Wat Arun in Bangkok without taking a boat is here
The first day in Thailand
I came to take photos at the Great Buddha at Wat Arun
This is the largest Buddha statue in Bangkok
The first sight of it is truly awe-inspiring
Do not take a boat to take photos❌

Google Maps navigation: 796 Soi Thoet Thai 26, the destination is (picture one), this location is not well known, so there's no need to queue for photos

🚖If you don't know how to use the subway, you can also take a taxi to Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen (Great Buddha at Wat Arun)

Fear of huge objects? The Great Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen in Bangkok
Bangkok| The Great Buddha at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen is a popular photo spot for visitors.
🚌BTS to: Bang Phai Station
(Basically, you can see the Great Buddha from the elevated train)
Start from Exit 1 and it's about a ten-minute walk to get there
Location of Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen: Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
The photo spot by the river is as follows
Google map location: Soi Thoet Thai 26
The surrounding area is mostly residential buildings, it's recommended for women to travel in groups and not to go too late. There are many dogs and cats around, and be aware that there might be snakes, lizards, crocodiles by the riverbank, but don't be scared, they generally won't attack unless provoked! Just avoid them. The dogs are usually very lazy and friendly!
The location I've pinpointed can be reached by boat, which are private and smaller, making them better for photography. Taking the official boats can be crowded and not as conducive to getting good photos.

Paknam Phasi Charoen Temple (name in Google Map)
Address:
300 Ratchamongkhon Prasat Alley, Pak Khlong Phasi Charoen, Phasi Charoen, Bangkok 10160, Thailand
The best option: take MRT to Bang Phai Station, approx 15 15-minute walk to reach the temple.
Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, also known as Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, is a prominent temple located in the Phasi Charoen district of Bangkok, Thailand. The full name of the temple is Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen Ratchaworawihan. It is known for its rich history, spiritual significance, and the teachings of its former abbot, Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Toh Brahmaransi).
This temple is popular as a tourist destination due to the size of the Buddha statue, sitting on the riverside. Moreover, this temple is popular for local due to some interesting facts:
1.Abbot Toh Brahmaransi: Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Toh Brahmaransi) was a highly respected and revered monk who served as the abbot of Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen. He was known for his meditation practice and his teachings on Dhammakaya meditation.

A solo travel guide to Bangkok, off-the-beaten-path and free attractions
Having been to Bangkok many times, I recommend a route of off-the-beaten-path and free attractions. One can travel around the city by bus and subway alone.
Accommodation is recommended on Khao San Road, which is a paradise for backpackers around the world. The accommodation is cheap and there are many hostels. It is the place with the highest cost performance in Bangkok. Standard rooms start at 100 yuan.
Transportation is convenient, buses can transfer to the subway, reaching various urban attractions in Bangkok.
Wat Suthat, you can depart from Khao San Road in the morning, go to Tha Tian Pier, take a one-yuan ferry to the opposite Zheng Wang Temple Station, and take the blue subway line directly to Wat Suthat. Wat Suthat is a newly popular attraction in Bangkok, with a 66-meter-high golden Buddha standing in the 400-year-old Wat Suthat. Admission is free.
From Wat Suthat, take the BTS subway to the city center, where you can visit Bangkok's Chinatown, Erawan Shrine, Icon Siam and other downtown attractions. Chinatown is a gathering place for Chinese people, with many Chinese-style buildings, temples, and traditional foods from Fujian and Guangdong. ICON Siam is Bangkok's youngest and most fashionable creative mall. From Saphan Taksin subway station, you can take a ferry to get there.
In the evening, take a free ferry from Saphan Taksin subway station to the Ferris Wheel Lakeside Night Market, where you can enjoy the sunset on the Mekong River on the ferry.
From the Ferris Wheel Night Market, you can take a bus directly back to Khao San Road and stroll around the Khao San Road Night Market at night. If you have time the next day, it is recommended to take a bus to Talin Chan Floating Market, which is the nearest large floating market to Bangkok city. Here you can experience the traditional Thai floating market, sit on a boat to tour the market, and also experience boat noodles and other Thai delicacies.
The Great Buddha of Wat Klang Nam | A quick guide to check-in within an hour from Don Mueang Airport
|A quick guide to check-in within an hour from Don Mueang Airport. As I came to Bangkok due to a stolen passport, I didn't specifically look for popular alleys and shipyard spots. I got off at BangPhai station and had a bowl of fried noodles. There are many interesting places to stroll around nearby. Here are some small tips:
✓It is recommended to go in the morning, the Buddha's face is backlit in the afternoon
✓No need to come specifically, the surrounding area is not very convenient for transportation
✓Various cafes are actually cost-effective, with a minimum consumption of only 50 baht
✓In addition to catfish, there are crocodiles in the river!!!
✓Don't be obsessed with popular spots, the ones I took casually were just found in the nearby alleys, it's most important to have your own personal experience of the Great Buddha.
【Don Mueang Airport】
After passing through customs and getting the stamp, you will enter the arrival hall.

There's a small sign at the entrance of the alley that says "Large Buddha👈🏻". Pay attention to it, turn in and keep going along the alley. At the end of the alley is a shipyard coffee shop, if you think you've already got a good shot, you don't need to go.
Picture 4️⃣ Yellow Staircase
📍Marché Thonglor
A new mall in Bangkok, there's food, drinks, and coffee shops inside, the yellow staircase is very eye-catching, you can find it when you come in.
Picture 5️⃣, 6️⃣ nana coffee shop
📍nana coffee roster air
A popular coffee shop where locals also check-in, a very design-sense small courtyard, many elements for check-in.
Picture 7️⃣ Industrial style brunch in the end
📍sarnies
The industrial style is very photogenic! The coffee, desserts, and brunch are all top-notch. It's recommended to sit on the second floor. Note that there's another shop in the city, but it's not this style of decoration, remember to choose 63 Charoen Krung Rd if you want to check-in and take photos.

I'll post detailed notes about some places separately, welcome to follow and squat!
The Temple where a Giant Golden Buddha Awaits You!
I visited Wat Paknam in Bangkok and I was impressed by its scale and elegance. It is a royal temple that dates back to 1610, during the Ayutthaya period, and has received royal patronage ever since. It is situated in the Phasi Charoen district, adjacent to the Chao Phraya River and several canals.
The temple features a splendid stupa that was inaugurated in 2012, named Maharatchamongkhon. It is 80 meters tall and 46 meters wide, and has five floors filled with Buddhist art and relics. The stupa is adorned with gold and colorful glass mosaic tiles, making it shine in the sunlight. I ascended to the top floor and beheld a magnificent emerald Buddha statue, surrounded by thousands of smaller Buddha images.
The temple also features a colossal bronze Buddha statue that was completed in 2021, placed in front of the stupa. It is 69 meters tall and 32 meters wide, and weighs 250 tons. It is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, and it looks very majestic and tranquil. I felt very calm and inspired when I saw it.
I appreciated my visit to Wat Paknam very much. It is a place where you can admire the beauty and grandeur of Buddhism. It is also a place where you can learn about the history and culture of the Phasi Charoen district, which has been influenced by the temple for centuries. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a remarkable temple in Bangkok.

The biggest Buddha in Bangkok
One of my most impressive discoveries in Bangkok is the giant Buddha statue in Wat Pak Nam Temple. This is the largest Buddha statue in the capital of Thailand, whose height is 64 meters. The most unusual angles on this statue should be looked for near the channels that flow next to the temple. An absolutely incredible sight!
To get to the temple, take the MRT metro line to Bang Phai Station and then walk about 700 meters on foot.

The most beautiful temple in Bangkok
#celebratewithtrip
Welcome to Wat Pak Nam, the most beautiful temple in bangkok in my opinion and I can tell you why:
First of all the beautiful glass pagoda inside the temple on the fifth floor is magnificent in this room with this beautiful designed roof. If you have the chance to go there you should definitely go.
Second the big humble looking buddah is very magnificent and beautiful in its on way.
Third it is great walk around on the pagoda and have a look around the neighborhood and enjoy the view on the surrounding temples and pagodas.
Last but not least it is not that crowded because many people don’t know about it.
the most beautiful temple in Bangkok
#celebratewithtrip. this temple is absolutely stunning! first it has a huge Buddha outside, and once you walk into this pagoda till 4th floor, you will see this beautiful ceiling that painted with blue and green colours. it’s a bit trippy, and the colour is really vivid! it’s free of entry and by the river side, once you get to the terrace, you are able to see the skyline of Bangkok, and the river down. it’s pretty touristy, and lots of locals also come here to pray! this is a must visit place in Bangkok, you can easily reach here by MRT or BTS, then you walk for 12 minutes, you will see the temple. every floor they have some Buddhism related things you can look around
A must visit in Bangkok - Wat Paknam
Today is very adventurous when looking for Wat Paknam (Water Gate Temple). On the MRT Bang Phai station, you can see the huge golden Buddha and a pagoda standing inside the residential area. With the golden Buddha as the orientation, follow the Google guide to walk across the school, small bridge and the residential buildings. In addition to the Golden Buddha, the Temple also has the famous green stupa and a rich collection of Buddhist and classical relics in the museum. If you still have time in Bangkok, it is really worth a visit.
Chom Thong Train Station Thailand🇹🇭♥️
#thailandtrip
In the Bangkok market, there has emerged a world of "thousands and thousands", and the summer of Tyrande never ends. The streets of Bangkok are always bustling. If you have been to Bangkok many times like me, then come a little smaller! This 24-hour sudden attack by a small army in Bangkok is shared with you. The first stop is to take the BTS to Wuthakat, where you can see the Water Gate Buddha upon exiting the station. If you have already left the Buddha, navigate to the Chom Thong train station and follow the train tracks all the way south. Along the way, there are villages and tropical green plants. When you hear the train whistle, you often look back and see a world that is nowhere to be found.
Thailand | Visit the iconic Wat Traimit Withayaram and its Great Buddha for free
🌟 A new landmark has emerged in Bangkok, Thailand—a 66-meter-tall golden Buddha statue that has become the most popular tourist attraction, surpassing the Grand Palace in local tourism popularity and becoming a must-visit landmark in Bangkok.
-
🌟 Wat Traimit has been newly renovated, featuring a five-story pagoda and a 66-meter-tall golden Buddha. The pagoda, inspired by the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, stands 80 meters tall with five levels. The underground first to third levels display a vast collection of bronze, gilded, and jade Buddha statues, while the fourth level houses the most precious green jade pagoda.
-
🌟 The best viewing spot is located right in this alley, where you can see the golden Buddha's face and take a photo with the Great Buddha.
📍 Location: 215/33 Petchkasem Rd
Bangkok Must-Visit: The Prime Spot for the Great Golden Buddha at Wat Traimit
🌈 As a rising landmark and hot spot in Bangkok, Wat Traimit is most famous online for its photo spot strategies. The Great Buddha must be quite content watching us hopping around it all day, considering that all the Buddha statues in Thailand have smiling faces.
📍 I didn't make a special effort to look for the spot. Exiting the MRT at 'Tha Phra' station (BL01), I walked into the alley across the street. Turning left at the T-junction next to the temple, I followed the alley straight to the end. In just a few steps, I could see the famous photo spot and the Great Buddha, ready for a photo shoot. Further ahead is a local residence, which has now turned into a simple coffee shop 😂. They just set up a few tables, and if you're thick-skinned enough, you can pass through without buying anything to take photos by the river. Occasionally, boats pass by, which is quite interesting.
The drinks are quite basic (seems like they're all priced at 50B), and honestly, there's nothing commendable about the taste. The Thai milk tea tasted cheap and overly sweet, I suspect it's made from a powder mix. I also ordered a lemon ice or something, and it wasn't as good as the slushies from 7-11, but sitting by the river is still very relaxing.
Bangkok's Wat Hua Lamphong | Faith is the greatest freedom and tolerance

Great golden buddha at Wat Pak Nam🇹🇭
#songkran2024
The Buddha statue's full name is Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, situated in the Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen temple. Since the statue stands at an impressive 64 meters tall, for a panoramic view from a distance, we suggest these two spots:
📷 Check out Figures 1 and 3: Talatphlu amanwa, a cozy cafe with delightful coffee and pastries. Grab a cup of coffee, head up to the rooftop, and enjoy the view of the Buddha.
📷 As for Figure 2: There's a tricky-to-find alleyway leading to the riverbank, tucked away in a residential area, as indicated on the map "My Location."
‼️ I hopped off at BTS Talat Phlu station and strolled over, but the distance was still quite a trek. It would take around 20 minutes on foot to reach the cafe.

🕍 The full name of the Buddha statue is Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, located in the Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen temple. However, since the Buddha statue is 64 meters tall, if you want to have a panoramic view from afar, we recommend these two places:
📷Figures 1 and 3: At Talatphlu amanwa, a small refreshing cafe with some creative coffee and pastries. You can buy a cup of coffee and go up to the rooftop to see the Buddha
📷 Figure 2: A very difficult to find alleyway leading to the riverbank, hidden within a residential area, as shown in the last map "My Location"
‼️ I sat at BTS Talat Phlu station and walked over, but the distance was still quite far. It would take about 20 minutes to walk to Cafe

Bangkok | Wat Paknam's Megalophobia | Unattainable
To talk about the hottest temple in Bangkok right now, it's neither the Grand Palace nor Wat Arun, but this remote and niche Wat Paknam, especially the golden giant Buddha standing in the residential area. The oppressive feeling of the giant object is very shocking as it is presented in the photos.
⛰【Travel Tips】
📍Detailed address: Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, can be found on Google. If Google is not accessible due to domestic roaming, try Grab or Apple Map. However, if you're taking photos, it's not recommended to go directly to the temple. Instead, it's better to take a taxi to near Petchkasem Road or 796 Soi Thoet Thai, which is a small alley. Go to the end of the alley where there's no more road; this is opposite Wat Paknam. There are some small signs along the way, you can follow them to the riverside photo spot. Hidden corners often capture more enchanting scenery.
🕙Opening hours: I went in the afternoon, and you can see it from outside after dark.
💰Admission fee: None
🌟Highlights:
👉The entire big Buddha is squeezed into a residential area, which is very abrupt. This place is not a tourist spot, but a real religious site, so naturally, it's free. But unintentionally, it has become more magnificent than some tourist attractions. Those who are good at finding beauty can walk around the outer circle of streets to find photo spots, such as the LadYa8 overpass, and the aforementioned alleys are classic locations. You can take a small boat on the river to see the Buddha (locals charge for this), with views from both the front and back, costing 200 to 300 Thai Baht per person. By boat, you can also see another temple across the river under the bridge, and you can walk there as well. More people stand on the shore to take photos with the big Buddha statue for free. There are also many small paths next to the alley, where you can stroll around and discover various angles of the big Buddha looking down. Many locals live here; it's a very lifelike place, just don't disturb the residents.
👉There is a beverage shop called AT talat phlu on the nearby main road. Navigate there and go up to the third floor to capture the side view of the big Buddha and the white pagoda. Of course, you need to spend a little. I noticed that most of the people drinking coffee here are Chinese, which is quite strange.
👉Of course, you can walk from here along the main road to Wat Paknam. Along the way, you'll pass a bridge. On the north side of the bridge is the Wat Paknam big Buddha, and on the south side are two other big Buddhas at Wat Bang Pla Noi, including a reclining Buddha. They are all beautifully crafted and worth admiring. Crossing the bridge into Wat Paknam, of course, you'll see the main attraction, the golden Buddha of Shakyamuni. You can only realize how tall it is when you see it up close - 69 meters. The Buddha was completed in 2021, and as soon as it was finished, it immediately became famous worldwide. You can find different angles to view it inside the temple.
📌Little Tips:
It's quite a task to find photo spots in the hot weather, and it's best to plan your walking route in advance, or it can be very tiring. But often, it's these informal, community-based attractions that are full of culture and outshine many heavily invested 5A tourist areas that aim to make money and spoil the original scenery.
Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen: A New Landmark for Check-in in Bangkok
🛶 Take a long-tail boat to see the Great Buddha of Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, and view Bangkok, the 'City of Angels', from a different perspective.
The skyscrapers, temples, and water houses on both sides of the Chao Phraya River, along with the locals paddling boats and selling goods on the water, seem to represent the city's most authentic way of life.
When the 69-meter-tall Great Buddha of Wat Paknam appears before your eyes, an awe-inspiring atmosphere immediately envelops you. The Buddha statue, as tall as a 20-story building and made of bronze and gold leaf, sits in a lotus position. Its golden body looks extremely solemn and sacred, and it is spectacular from any angle.
Behind the Great Buddha is a five-story white pagoda, each level filled with many unique Buddhist artifacts, and many parts are still under renovation today. At the top, there is a green glazed pagoda, crystal clear and full of sacred spirituality. From here, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of Bangkok and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of tranquility and solemnity.

Praying for blessings on the Festival of Ten Thousand Buddhas: The Buddha's light shines brightly at Wat Hua Lamphong in Bangkok
Wat Hua Lamphong is a newly popular landmark in Bangkok for social media check-ins. It is a large Buddhist architectural complex. Before entering the temple, one must pass through a very old residential area, walking through a narrow alleyway, and then a gigantic Buddha statue appears close at hand, known as the Great Buddha of Wat Hua Lamphong. The Buddha is seated in a lotus position with crossed legs, hands stacked in front of the belly, palms facing up, in a meditative gesture. The Buddha, with a gentle nod and lowered brows, exudes an aura of dignity, overlooking all beings with a heart full of great compassion and benevolence. Due to the immense height and size of the Buddha statue, which is covered in shining gold, it provides a powerful spiritual shock and visual impact. Coincidentally, today is the Festival of Ten Thousand Buddhas, a traditional Buddhist festival in Thailand, held on the 15th day of the third month of the Thai lunar calendar. On this day, Wat Hua Lamphong hosts charitable organizations that distribute free toast, coffee, and milk tea within the temple. They taste quite good! Additionally, one can witness monks performing acts of kindness and listen to sermons and chanting in the early morning.
Besides admiring the Great Buddha, we also visited the Buddha hall in front of it and the stupa behind it. The highest level features a jade crystal stupa that radiates a soft green light, enshrining the Buddha's relics, which is very sacred and solemn. To truly appreciate the unique charm of Thai Buddhist culture, one must immerse oneself in the experience and learn from it, rather than just checking in for the sake of it. Only then can one have a deeper reflection on life and the world.

At the end of the road is the Great Buddha✨
The Great Buddha and modern architecture echo each other
Taking pictures is very atmospheric, more suitable for telephoto lenses📷

Sure, you can shoot with your phone! Sharing classic spots for shooting the Wat Suthat Big Buddha
On this vacation to Bangkok, the main task of citywalk for a few days is to shoot the new landmark Wat Suthat Big Buddha. Here are some classic spots that you can easily shoot with your phone!
Picture 1⃣️2⃣️📍Shipyard Cafe
The best check-in spot in my mind, close to the Buddha, with a scenic table, can shoot the holiday atmosphere. The only downside is that you have to pay 20 baht for the 🎫 whether you consume or not.
Picture 3⃣️📍Soi Phet Kasem 15
It's actually the small road leading to the outside of the Shipyard Cafe, there is a long narrow alley, outside the alley you can shoot the Big Buddha.
Picture 4⃣️📍Bangkok Yai District Office
Navigate to this location, the overpass next to it is the spot. You can shoot the river, the Big Buddha and the boat, very postcard-like. The downside is that there are wires blocking part of the view (need to be removed in post-production) Also because the guardrail is high, you need to climb the guardrail to shoot! So be careful where you step. A five-fold telephoto lens on your phone can capture the view in the picture.
Picture 5⃣️📍At Talat Phlu
Another coffee shop, you can shoot the side of the Buddha from the rooftop on the third floor.
Picture 6⃣️7⃣️📍Wat Suthat Big Buddha
Just navigate to Wat Suthat Big Buddha, the picture on the back was taken on the rooftop of the museum behind the Big Buddha.
Picture 8⃣️📍Wat Pradu Chimphli
The spot seen on the way from the Big Buddha to Soi Phet Kasem 15 on foot, you can shoot the picture of Guanyin and Buddha in the same frame.
👉🏻TIPS
⭕Asked the staff, the Big Buddha can fly drones. But I checked that flying drones in Bangkok also requires registration, so if you want to take aerial shots, you should be aware of the risks.
⭕Some spots on the internet require a telephoto lens (like that classic spot with the car flow and the Buddha in the sunset, which requires more than 300mm) It's not necessary for non-professionals to go.
⭕The Big Buddha will light up after dark, so going to shoot before dusk is an excellent choice.
