The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and polite, with radiant smiles (the kind where even your eyes seem to smile). The front desk staff even came out to greet us when we checked out, offered to take commemorative photos, and helped us drive our car across the street. They greeted us again as we drove away; we truly felt their warmth and hospitality.
The room was also very large (super large for a pure Japanese-style room; I roughly counted over 25 tatami mats in the main space), and the view was fantastic, overlooking a river, with the sound of flowing water (of course, you had to open the window; the soundproofing was quite good).
The onsen (hot spring) is another highlight of the hotel. We took the hotel's free shuttle bus, which runs every 20-30 minutes from the hotel entrance. It takes you to the hotel's open-air onsen, which has five different types, all of which were amazing, though surprisingly few people were using them 😂😂😂 My friends also said it would be a worthwhile experience to stay here again.
Small compact room with modern interior. Comfy bed and well ventilated with mini fan provided. They provided extra bedsheet so that the sofa bed is converted to another single. Big enuf for a teenager to sleep on. Space big enough to open just one huge luggage. Somehow the room feels damp but we just stayed for two nights so did not bother changing rooms. Lots of free parking available. Near Aso milk factory which is a must visit for delicious pastries and snacks.
The staff were very friendly and I was able to spend a good time. It was the first Hitoyoshi Onsen, but the quality of the spring was my favorite and the hot water was lukewarm and my skin was happy. The Kuma River flows in front of me, and I was able to walk around 々 near Sengetsu Shuzo and Hitoyoshi Jo castle. When I arrived, there was a drink service in the lobby and a space to spend a relaxing time drinking alcohol and soft drinks before dinner, so I felt a little better.
The room was very spacious and the bathroom and toilet were clean. We could use the large public bath and guests were given free sorbet. They also provided individual transportation to the airport, which was very helpful.
The picturesque scenery and outdoor onsen were delightful. The stay with dinner and breakfast included was absolutely fantastic value for money. Dinner was incredibly generous, and there was a wide variety of options for breakfast too. They even provided fireworks for the kids! My only slight complaint was that the air conditioning wasn't quite cold enough for my liking, but I still managed to sleep comfortably.
The building itself is old, but it has been well-cleaned and kept clean, the restaurant seems to have been renovated, it has a very stylish space, and all the food was delicious.
Above all, the hospitality of the staff was amazing!
We had a comfortable stay.
The adorable cats were also soothing.
As one of the eight sunset views, we were able to see a big, round, beautiful sunset.
This is an inn that I would like to stay at again.
After checking out, they saw us off, and in the rearview mirror I could see them waving goodbye until we were out of sight.
It was a really wonderful hotel ♡
The hotel is located on the plateau plains, with fresh air and beautiful scenery nearby. However, the location is relatively remote and suitable for self-driving travelers. It is very close to Aso Volcano.
I stayed in the new hotel. Because it had just been renovated, the room was relatively large. The decoration of the room was very new and the layout was simple. The scenery outside the balcony was beautiful. It was a comfortable stay.
The front desk clerk is a foreigner, easy to communicate with and polite. When I asked if there was a room with a private hot spring pool that we could upgrade to, the waiter took the initiative to arrange a family bath for me to enjoy for free during our designated time period. This Very thoughtful.
The buffet dinner and breakfast provided by the hotel were average. The food was not rich in variety and not hot enough. This was the only thing that disappointed us.
Hotel and public bath area a bit aged. Good Large room. The 2 hotel onsen area need to drive or walk 5 -10 mins its not very convenient

GGuest UserThe resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno 立野 station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano.
Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's.

SSukipigThe hotel is located on the mountain, the scenery is beautiful, there is a swimming pool, but it is not enough time, there is a hot spring, it is best to drive more convenient, the waiter will only speak Japanese when checking in, but it is polite, most of the hotel guests are Japanese, the breakfast is rich and delicious!
