We stayed at this Riad for three nights and didn't regret it at all! It was beautiful and atmospheric, like stepping into a fairy tale, and it was so cool to be able to experience their history and culture.
The host, who greeted us and then helped us with all our questions, was very polite and welcoming.
The breakfasts were very generous and filling, and I especially appreciate their coffee (a true work of art).
There's also a swimming pool for free accessđ
There was a small cafe next to the Riad; it was very inexpensive and incredibly deliciousđ
We thought long and hard about booking this place, but we haven't regretted our decision at allđ
We stayed for one day. The breakfast was modest, but you probably won't go hungry. A huge downside was that the sheets weren't changed. I pointed out the dirt and hair on the bedsheet, and the staff member just said, 'So what?' She then brought another dirty sheet. It took three attempts to get a clean one, which was horrible. The toilet and sink were dirty, and people clearly smoke in the room, so there was a strong odor. There was a safe in the room, but no hair conditioner, cotton buds, or tissues. Maybe we've been spoiled by other 4-star hotels, but there was absolutely nothing here... They also put us next to a room undergoing major renovations, so there was a loud banging noise starting at 8 AM. Luckily, we had an extra three hours and were already heading out. I definitely wouldn't come back here. On the plus side, it's about a 15-minute walk to the train station.
There was not body wash in the bathroom for the first night we stayed, so we could only use hand soap for bathing after our workout at midnight. We informed the front desk staff the next morning about this and he promised to follow up. However, the body wash bottle was still empty when we returned hotel in afternoon. We again asked the cleansing lady to follow up and she said âOKâ to us, unfortunately the result was the same when we returned the room after dinner. I believe good services to the guests by a world class hotel is significant, so recurrence of such kind of matter should be avoided. Thanks.
Riad is located right in the center of Medina, it is not difficult to find. Meet with tea and biscuits, the room is excellent, clean, authentic, bottled water in the room, over the course of the day was cleaning and provided more water. Breakfast is good.
Nice riad with excellent service. They picked us up from the taxi on the first day and helped us meet the driver on our return. The breakfast was good, which was much appreciated as we would have found it difficult to start the day looking for somewhere to eat. It's a 20-minute walk from the main square.
It's just across the road from the train station. Taxis in Morocco are particularly expensive for foreigners, so staying here means you won't need to take taxis back and forth, making it much more convenient.
Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to be as informative as possible and share the information I would have liked to know before booking.
This was my 5th trip to Marrakesh and my first stay at Savoy Le Grand. I was quite nervous booking after reading some negative reviews, but overall I had a very pleasant experience.
From the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were warmly welcomed by Salah (concierge) and the Moroccan tea man in reception. From check-in to check-out (4 days later), all staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Everyone we encountered spoke Arabic, French, and English, which made communication very easy.
The foyer is beautiful, and the grounds are extremely well cared forâeven more beautiful than expected. That said, there is ongoing construction and upgrades, which are not mentioned on the website. This is currently their quiet season, and the main construction is above the reception building, which is being extended upwards. Noise started daily around 9:15am, drilling around 9:38am, and finished around 6:30pm. Estimated completion is 1 May 2026. If you request a room near the second smaller pool, the noise is much less noticeable. The noise is louder and echoes more around the main pool due to the square layout.
The hotel has four pools: two outdoor and two indoor. One indoor pool is heated and includes jacuzzi jets. There is also an additional indoor jacuzzi at the spa, charged at MAD 250 per person for one hour.
There are three Ă la carte restaurants on site: Moroccan, International, and Italian. Directly outside the hotel are a supermarket, Paul, Chilliâs, and Papa Johnâs. Please note that outside food is not allowed inside the hotel. There is an ATM in reception and direct access to Menara Mall, which closes at 10pm.
Special thanks to Nabil at reception, who did an excellent job checking us in. He listened carefully to my needs and arranged early check-in to a ground-floor room close to the restaurants, spa, and gym, with a garden and pool view. Soundproofing from the pool area was good, although hallway noise does travel. The grounds are beautiful, but the ground-floor rooms occasionally had a sewage smell, which Iâve also experienced at other Moroccan hotels.
We did experience a few issues with our first room (heating not working, leaking fridge, slow-draining sink). Without us needing to complain, Soukayna from guest relations came first thing the next morning and immediately arranged for us to move to a beautiful suite. This level of customer service, care, and attentiveness is exactly what you expect from a 5-star hotel. In the evening thereâs live entertainment music in the bar and outside a light & water fountain display.
The suite was stunningâvery spacious, with a separate living area, two balconies, lots of storage, mini fridge, large sofa, king-size bed, two TVs, kettle, coffee machine, safe, bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom had two sinks (standard rooms have one), plenty of toiletries (no washcloths), a large shower with both handheld and waterfall options, and excellent water pressure. There wasnât much space to hang items, and there is a bidet hose beside the toilet. Thank you to the head cleaning lady for the final touches and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
Iâd like to thank all the staff for providing us with a wonderful stay. I love the Moroccan peopleâthey are humble, kind, and always willing to help. Despite the construction, I achieved my goal of relaxation and a short break. This is now my new favourite hotel in Marrakesh, and I will definitely return and recommend it to friends and family
A new riad that's both stylish and incredibly clean. You can pull up right to the door to unload your luggage. Hamid, the manager, was a great help in arranging parking around the corner in an underground garage, and I can't thank him enough â he's a very pleasant and attentive young man. Inside, the riad is beautifully decorated, with a pool and sun loungers, and we were offered welcome tea upon arrival. The rooftop, where breakfast is served, offers a magnificent view of the El Badi Palace ruins. You could easily skip visiting the ruins because you can see storks right from the hotel's rooftop! Breakfasts are consistent day-to-day, but still delicious â fresh coffee and orange juice. Our balcony overlooked a lively street in the Medina, so be prepared to hear the sounds of the city until midnight, but that's the trade-off for staying within walking distance of all of Marrakech's iconic landmarks.
The hotel was in a quiet location, the pool was nice.
Unfortunately our room was very disappointing. In our first room the AC was not working. Maintenance came to fix it, there was a slight improvement but still not great. Then whilst opening the shower door, the door fell off the wall. This looks like it was because the door had not been maintained. This is not what you would expect in any establishment - let alone a 4* hotel. It also had the potential to be very dangerous, luckily I was strong enough to hold the weight of the door before assistance came. The hotel moved us to a new room and gave us a nice selection of food in our new room which was nice gesture although we would have expected more. The AC in the new room worked well so the room change was welcome. Unfortunately, the fridge in the room was leaking internally so we had to throw away food that we were storing in there as it became damp from an internal leak. One of these occurrences we could probably accept but to have three issues with repairing is not what I expect from Accor. The hotel needs serious maintenance!
Great hotel that I experienced, the staff was friendly I enjoyed my stay. Hotel cleanliness is good, and everything looks good, highly recommend staying during Malakesh, if you come from the train or flight.

GGuest UserGreat resort for active families who like their sports. Includes paddle ball, full size football pitchel, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and lots of aqua activities. Good gym & indoor pool. Heated outdoor pool as well as a number of other outdoor pools. Includes VR/ gaming and arcades. Variety of entertainment. Lovely aqua park and water ropes course included for over 150cm people. The lobby bar is brilliant for coffee and amazing bakery. Also great for watching football. Rooms are large, modern and well equipped. Food is varied. Nice choice of non - veg like king prawns, smoked salmon, chicken kebabs, turkey steaks but can get repetitive after a few days. All inclusive drinks are good. Free shuttle bus to Medina is useful. 30 minutes away.
Negative points is mainly really poor customer service, bad communication and some rude staff! Not 5 star service or attitudes! This is a number of staff from reception porters, ,bar & restaurant staff
GGuest UserThis is a very worthwhile hotel. It can be said to be the highlight of the entire trip to Morocco. Each room is an independent Riad courtyard. The service is friendly but not overly enthusiastic. Except for the average food, the environment can be said to be impeccable. Marrakech is actually quite dirty and messy as a whole. The inside and outside of the hotel can be said to be two different worlds. If I come to Marrakech next time, I will still consider staying here!
KK DesaiThis is an absolutely stunning Riad. I cannot praise it enough. The courtyard is beautiful and full of trees and plants. The restaurant shares this space and is a wonderful experience to have breakfast, lunch or dinner among the trees and plants.
We stayed in room Orientalle and it is just incredible. There is a balcony over the pool and plenty of room to relax. The artwork is also stunning, not just in the room but all over the riad. It is like staying in a museum.
There are also many patios to relax in although we could not make full use of them as the weather wasn't great.
The real stars of the Riad are the staff. They are simply amazing. Ahmed looked after us so well. Sorted out our transfers and organised a tour of Marrakech, booked a restaurant for is. Would always ask if we were okay was always ready with a tip or helping on what to do or where to go. When he wasn't there Khalid did the same. Khalid is also very friendly and helpful. It was great having them in reception just before you went out. As we had come to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary Ahmed had decorated the room with petals and had also arranged a bunch of roses for my wife. He also organised a special vegetarian dinner in the restaurant for us
Housekeeping led by Latifa were great and the room was cleaned very well and repeatedly decorated with rose petals.
Breakfast is a traditional Moroccan one and is very good. The star is however Oussama, our waiter. He looked after us every day and insisted we try everything and made sure we had a good breakfast. He is a very genuine person and truly wants you to have a good time. When we had dinner at the restaurant one evening he made sure we couldn't eat another crumb. A truly kind and sweet person
I cannot praise the Riad and staff enough. It is not the cheapest place but for my wife and I it was worth every penny. The memories we have will last for ever.
We will return
JJieningggHighly recommend any travellers to Marrakesh to stay in this raid! It is walking distance to most of the attractions and the hospitality from this raid has been amazing! Staffs were very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast provided was amazing too! What you see in other reviews with regards to the mouldy bathrooms, I personally feel that itâs all part of the aesthetic of the raid. Apart from that, we loved our room in this raid as it was really clean and cosy!
GGuest UserWe didnât have any issues there. In general the service is good even if there is nobody in the reception thus they give you your own keys of the main entrance and your room. As a suggestion it is needed a sign âRiad Nouhalâ but anyway, if you follow the location on Google Maps, you will be in.
GGuest UserAbsolutely great experience in old style. Beautiful building run by friendly people that were always ready to help. Small but cosy rooms that were kept clean everyday. Very good breakfast! Really was sorry to miss one because of early departure for a trip one day. All staff always smiling, helpful and ready to brighten your day with mint tea (even late in the evening). Very communicative, I enjoyed having some small chat with them everyday. They also have spa and hammam that was nice to try after one particularly wet and cold day. I truly recommend this hotel to everyone!
NNatasha Audina SI love the ambience, the decor and above all, the service that this riad has given from the moment we arrived until we checked out. The staff member that greeted us was very helpful and informative, and there were two night shift members who were incredibly helpful arranging our early breakfast (because we had to leave super early) and accompanied us to show the safest way to the square at the crack of the dawn. Even when we got lost on our way to the riad, the staff member also picked us up and helped us with our belongings. I would definitely recommend this riad to friends or family who want to make a trip to Morocco, especially Marrakech!
GGuest UserStayed here recently after booking through Trip.com, and overall it was a really relaxing and unique experience.
Location:
The villa is about 30 minutes from Marrakesh city centre, so itâs definitely more on the quiet, countryside side. Thatâs great if youâre looking to unwind away from the chaos of the Medina, but just keep in mind youâll need a taxi or arranged transport to get around.
Ambience & Property:
The place feels like a peaceful retreat. The pool area is beautiful, well-maintained, and surrounded by greenery and palm trees. Plenty of loungers and shaded spots to relax, which makes it perfect for a chill day. The architecture has a rustic Moroccan charm with small villa-style rooms that add to the cozy vibe.
Rooms & Comfort:
Rooms are simple but comfortable. Not ultra-luxury, but clean and nicely designed to match the overall aesthetic of the property. It feels more like staying at a private villa than a typical hotel.
Service:
Staff were friendly and helpful, though service can feel a bit laid-back at times (which honestly matches the vibe of the place).
Food & Facilities:
The poolside setup is great for relaxing, though food options might be limited compared to larger hotels. Best to plan meals or head into the city for more variety.
Overall Experience:
If youâre looking for a calm, aesthetic getaway with a beautiful pool and peaceful surroundings, this is a solid choice. If you prefer being close to the action, this might feel a bit too remote.
Rating: âââââ (4/5)
Great for relaxing, but location may not suit everyone.
