I think the best of the available options in Dili. Comfortable location. If you drive from the airport, it is almost straight, with one turn to get off the road leading to the airport and with the second to turn to the hotel.
Staff responsive and polite. Rooms are clean. Cleaned 1 times a day. Room is large. What was pleased is a regulated air conditioner, in handling is simple and switching quickly between different modes, temperatures.
Breakfast is personally perfect for me, but it is worth noting that there is no choice. However, basic things are present and even a delicious red fish.
In the evening, the bar worked on the roof, only the presence of karaoke, from which you will not hide.
First of all, there is nothing fun in East Timor. It is relatively scarce in terms of tourism resources, transportation is not convenient, and prices are relatively high. Then as for the hotel, it is just so-so, a bit like the guesthouses in China. The facilities are relatively old and the business is relatively small. There are no slippers in the room, and you don’t have to bring your own toothbrush or other toiletries. There is no free mineral water, only bottled water service, which can only be said to be make do. The free breakfast is relatively small. It may be because it is closer to the airport and the transportation is more convenient. The infrastructure of the whole East Timor is really poor.
I stayed at the Beach Garden Hotel on a business trip.
The rooms and public areas were generally clean, and daily housekeeping was excellent.
The hotel was conveniently located near the city center and the beach, and nearby restaurants and amenities made dining and transportation convenient during my business trip.
The staff were friendly and responsive to my requests, which was a plus.
While the facilities were relatively old, the air conditioning, hot water, and Wi-Fi all worked well, making it a more than adequate place for a business trip.
The breakfast was simple but clean, and it was easy to manage airport transfers and meeting schedules, making for a comfortable and efficient stay overall.
I highly recommend this hotel for business trips or short-term stays.
First of all: the staff were very friendly and helped quickly (e.g. ordering a taxi, and a free ride to the airport at 7 a.m. on the last day)! The location and outdoor facilities don't live up to what the Excelsior Resort name suggests. The pool was a disgrace (but at least usable), the loungers were broken, and there wasn't a bit of greenery around it! Everything was gray, with partially broken paths. Walking to Timor Plaza in the blazing sun was impossible; it took at least 20 minutes, so I'd pay a taxi! I would completely disagree with what other guests said in their descriptions: ”restaurants and shops nearby.” There's no such thing! I spent 3 days in Dili, but unfortunately I didn't go into the sea once; there was no beach nearby. Taxis can be divided into 2 categories: the blue ones are OK (because they have a fair meter), while the yellow ones require negotiation; the price is usually much too high. I took a blue one to Christo Rei's, which was OK! Breakfast was rather spartan!
The hotel is very well located, nice and new, beautiful pool, quiet, good service but a bit lacking. The only major downside is the breakfast – very poor breakfast, and generally poor food at the hotel. They need to improve significantly in this area.
