Mandarin Oriental Pudong Shanghai

My last stop in Shanghai was a fantastic experience. The hotel staff were all incredibly diligent and responsible, with very friendly attitudes. The front desk answered calls promptly, and the public areas had a unique and beautiful design. The luggage space in the room was very generous, which was practical. Because I'd had some unpleasant experiences at other hotels previously, I specifically requested several hygiene-related accommodations this time. The hotel implemented all of them before check-in and even proactively communicated with me to confirm, going so far as to upgrade my room. After housekeeping cleaned the next day, a dedicated staff member even came up to double-check. During my stay, I didn't see any bugs, and the bedding was very clean – I'd say it's the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The only minor drawback was that it was quite hard to get a ride-sharing car using my phone. I heard the hotel can help arrange taxis, but I didn't try it. However, walking from the hotel to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Aquarium, or Super Brand Mall isn't too far, and strolling there in the evening with a breeze blowing was quite pleasant. I wish the hotel continued success and hope they maintain this standard. This will definitely be my top choice for future visits to Shanghai.

Upon arrival, they upgraded me to a river-view room, which offered a fantastic view. The turndown service was also excellent, and the room temperature was perfect. Highly recommend!

I specifically came to praise Ms. Alaia at the executive lounge of Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai! I've booked for my boss multiple times, and Alaia always takes care of all check-in arrangements in advance, being reliable and efficient. The breakfast and happy hour service is warm and attentive; she remembers guests' preferences, and the service is meticulous. The lounge staff are gentle and friendly. This established hotel truly delivers on service quality, and Alaia's warm and professional service significantly enhanced the stay experience. Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental, and it was a completely different experience from the Ritz-Carlton, Niccolo, or Waldorf Astoria. The day before check-in, the hotel called to ask about my room preferences, which was a nice touch. As soon as I entered the lobby, I was greeted by MO's iconic fan, a mosaic made of countless individual fans. This fan truly sets the tone for Mandarin Oriental, and fan motifs are subtly integrated throughout the hotel. The overall aesthetic is a perfect blend of 'old money' elegance and New Chinese style. From the decor and design to the overall aesthetic, it hit all the right notes for me, and I give the brand's taste a very high score! 😄 During check-in, the front desk thoughtfully upgraded me to a lake-view room. While waiting for the elevator, they enthusiastically shared the brand's history with me. When asked which hotels I usually stay at, they also highlighted what makes Mandarin Oriental unique compared to others, which made me feel highly valued. 🥰 Unfortunately, the weather in Shanghai that day wasn't great – it was foggy and drizzling, so the daytime view wasn't exactly to my taste. However, the night view was absolutely stunning! I was particularly pleased that, due to local regulations, smoking is prohibited indoors in Shanghai. When I went downstairs to smoke, a dedicated attendant guided me and even lit my cigarette. This is something I've rarely encountered in most hotels. The brand's training for its concierge staff is definitely something other cities and hotels should aspire to. 👍 Now for a small suggestion after all the praise: the sound quality of the room's speakers wasn't particularly great. Most luxury hotels typically use high-end audio brands like JBL or Sennheiser, and compared to those, the speakers at MO Shanghai weren't quite up to par. However, whatever, this is a minor issue, almost not even a problem at all. Overall, my stay at MO was exceptional. From the hotel service and the concierge's enthusiasm to the brand history and hotel design, it was almost perfect in every aspect. I hope the hotel continues its excellent work and I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai. I also hope that my future stays at other Mandarin Oriental properties will live up to the high standards set by MO Shanghai.

I booked a standard room, and to my surprise, the front desk upgraded me to a river view room. Judy at the front desk was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic, so a big shout-out to her! I thought the room interior would be dated, but it was actually very well-maintained. The breakfast selection was average, but the food quality was good. The hotel's location is also great. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Pretty good, the breakfast was tasty. The room facilities are a bit dated but it didn't bother me. Everything else was great. This is my second stay, and it's still good, no major complaints. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I originally booked a city view room, but the front desk quietly upgraded us to a river view room, which was a pleasant surprise. The river view outside the window and the illuminated high-rises across the way were particularly beautiful. It was very relaxing to lie in bed at night and enjoy the view outside.

Their professionalism and attentiveness in communication and arrangements made the entire check-in experience incredibly smooth and wonderfully pleasant. This stay also deeply impressed me with the overall excellence of the Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai. The hotel's public areas are elegantly serene, with a spatial ambiance that beautifully blends Eastern aesthetics with a city resort feel. The breakfast selection was extensive and exquisite, showcasing high standards in both quality and presentation. The overall experience was truly memorable. The room was beautiful, and I got upgraded to one with a view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. I also took part in a mixology event and got two delicious cocktails. The hotel's bathtub was very comfortable too; I could soak while enjoying the river view. Judy from the concierge team even came to ask about my stay, which was a thoughtful touch. She was very proactive in assisting and tried her best to meet my accommodation needs.
