Five-star recommendation for Wyndham Fenghuang! This stay in the Shanxi Private Hot Spring King Room was absolutely amazing. The room comes with its own private hot spring, allowing you to bathe surrounded by mountains and forests with excellent privacy. The hot spring water was incredibly soothing and relaxing. The front desk service was particularly attentive and responsive to all our requests. We accidentally left a power bank when checking out, and the hotel even helped mail it back to us, which was so heartwarming. The travel concierge thoughtfully provided a paper map of the ancient city, making our exploration routes clear at a glance. The hotel environment is tranquil, and the service is full of thoughtful details. Highly recommend for a vacation in Fenghuang!

The environment was comfortable, clean, and hygienic, and the service was excellent. They even upgraded me to a suite for free, which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend it. They also provided a complimentary private car service to the high-speed train station, which was fantastic.

I booked this hotel because of the Wyndham brand, and the room was clean and tidy, meeting 5-star hotel standards. The room type we booked didn't have a TV, but those are minor issues. The most critical problem with this Wyndham was the service. It's impossible to get a taxi from the train station to the hotel because its location is quite remote. If you use public transportation, you have to climb a long, steep hill. That's just one point. When you finally reach the front desk, out of breath, you'll find that no staff member will help you with your luggage. When we asked the front desk if there was an easier way, all we got was silence. After repeated inquiries, we were told about bus route 2. Thankfully, they did offer a shuttle to the station, which was the only comforting part of this whole ordeal. Perhaps due to inadequate training, after sensing our slight displeasure, the front desk quickly processed our room cards without explaining anything about breakfast or Wi-Fi, and then sent us to our room. It felt like they were afraid that saying one more word would lead to a complaint. Luckily, the room type I booked was separate from the main building, so I could ask them to call a shuttle to take us there, avoiding having to carry my luggage myself. The room had an old-style phone that could *only* be used to contact the front desk. Guests considering the same room type should note this. Sometimes, even the phone doesn't work, so we had to make several additional calls to clarify breakfast and other issues. In the private hot spring area, you need to call the shuttle in advance, and sometimes you don't know how long it will take to arrive. When we checked out, it never came, so we had to carry our suitcases down the steep hill ourselves. The hotel's breakfast was also very mediocre, not even as good as a B&B we stayed at later. There were hardly any meat dishes; only the gravy for the noodles had beef, but it was too tough to chew. The peanuts for the noodle toppings were spoiled, and so on. Also, the hotel's location is quite remote. In Fenghuang, where it's already hard to get a taxi, this situation is even worse, making it prone to drivers refusing rides or being unable to find one. Getting a taxi was always a struggle; it was only slightly better late at night when coming from the ancient town. That's all.

The hotel facilities are comprehensive; both the pool and hot springs are available for use, making for a great leisure and vacation experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The mattress was very comfortable, and the TV had good color. **Hygiene:** The hygiene was excellent, including the hot spring area, which was meticulously cleaned. **Environment:** The environment is beyond words. I heard that the owner leased the entire mountain and built this hot spring resort hotel nestled against it. **Service:** The service was very satisfying. I called for room service twice, and they responded quickly each time. The food delivery vehicle was also a comfortable business-class shuttle.

This is the most worthwhile treasure hotel to stay at when visiting Fenghuang, far better than those five-star hotels or boutique B&Bs along the Tuojiang River. Room: We arrived very late, and the hotel upgraded our room type. The room was very comfortable, and the bedding met the usual standards of a luxury five-star hotel. Environment: Located on a hill downstream of the ancient town, a private path leads directly to the riverside, passing by Mr. Shen Congwen's tomb. It's a quiet oasis amidst the bustling ancient town. In the morning, the downstream section of the Tuojiang River has few tourists, allowing you to enjoy the Crescent Moon Bridge scenery exclusively. By avoiding the noisy upstream area, you can truly appreciate the beauty of Fenghuang. Hot Springs: They have genuine hot springs sourced from 1800 meters underground. Soaking in them leaves your skin silky smooth. After exploring the ancient town, a hot spring bath washes away all fatigue, leading to a comfortable night's sleep. Parking: EV-friendly, with Tesla and Li Auto supercharging stations. This was my return to Fenghuang after twenty years. I initially planned to book a boutique B&B in town or a five-star hotel along the river, but ultimately chose Wyndham. Throughout our stay, my partner and I kept exclaiming that choosing to stay here was the best decision.
