Metropolo YMCA Hotel, People's Square Shanghai

My parents stayed in Shanghai for four days and three nights, and choosing this place was incredibly convenient for transportation. There are two subway lines downstairs, and it's not far from Huaihai Road, Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, and The Bund. The best part is how easy it was to go eat Xiao Shaoxing's white-cut chicken! 👍

The front desk staff were incredibly warm and provided excellent service. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free. The only minor issue was some age spots and wear on the chair. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and odorless. The environment and facilities truly reflect a people-oriented approach, paying attention to the smallest details. However, there's a slight disappointment: I had requested a south-facing room when booking, but unfortunately, my request wasn't fulfilled this time. A south-facing room is my first and only preference when staying at a hotel, as it allows me to open the window for ventilation, fresh air, and a good view.

I booked this hotel to visit the Shanghai Museum early in the morning, and it's incredibly close – just a short walk over the Yan'an Middle Road overpass. The hallway has a classic old Shanghai vibe. The room isn't huge, but it has a smart toilet. My east-facing window didn't overlook the street, and I could even see the tops of Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center. The location is truly excellent. It's only about 200 meters to Hong Kuijia for late-night snacks, and the Line 8 Metro station is also very close.

Excellent hotel! The front desk staff were very warm and helpful, making me feel right at home. The hotel building has a lot of history, and the interior is classic, elegant, clean, and comfortable. I loved it!

The hotel's location is truly excellent. It's right on a main road, next to the subway, and surrounded by all sorts of great restaurants. We came to Shanghai with our kids to visit museums, Nanjing Road, the Bund, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. From the hotel, it's just a 10-15 yuan taxi ride or even walkable to these attractions, which is super convenient.
