The Temple of Heaven is a unique altar for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Here, people worship the heavens, ask for rain, and pray for a better harvest. It is a famous ancient building in China. The Temple of Heaven is divided into two parts: the Inner Altar and the Outer Altar. Well-known structures such as the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest and the Echo Wall are located in the Inner Altar. While visiting the Temple of Heaven, tourists get to experience the grand praying ceremony of ancient emperors and observe the ingenious designs such as the Echo Wall and the Triple Sound Stones. The wisdom of the ancient craftsmen will not fail to impress you.

Show More ReviewsThe Temple of Heaven is a very beautiful and impressive place, and the combo ticket including general admission, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Echo Wall and the Circular Mound Altar is definitely worth getting. It can get very crowded, especially around the main attractions. Be prepared for a lot of pushing and very little personal space — people will sometimes push past you or even step in front of you to get a better view, especially inside the buildings. That said, don’t let the crowds take away from the experience. The Temple of Heaven itself is amazing, and there is so much to see and appreciate.I also recommend taking the audio guide. It makes the visit much more interesting because you understand what you are looking at and the history behind it.Take your time, stay there and enjoy the atmosphere rather than rushing from one attraction to another. It’s a place worth experiencing slowly.
