How do I even begin? Coming from Haitang Bay, the difference is just too stark. The hotel facilities are dated. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, and for some reason, there was this strong cafeteria food smell. Shouldn't a hotel costing over a thousand yuan smell like perfume? Or at the very least, fresh? As for the minibar, I think it should be stocked with drinks, not just two complimentary bottles of mineral water to make up the numbers. Even if I don't drink them, I don't appreciate feeling like I'm being short-changed. Then there's the soundproofing, which is comparable to a budget motel. Every word spoken in the hallway sounded amplified and came right into our room. I woke up at least 800 times throughout the morning because of the noise. What's even more bizarre is that the hotel curtains didn't close properly (maybe because they weren't overlapping?). It was so bright in the morning, which definitely affected my sleep. Most of the recreational activities outside the hotel are chargeable. The evening bar performance might be free to listen to, but it was too cold, so we didn't participate. Lying on the beach felt okay, I guess. Furthermore, check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is at 12 PM, with only a normal extension to 1 PM (isn't it usually 2 PM?). After I raised my concerns, the hotel management was actually quite good and actively helped resolve things, which was a small comfort. However, I originally came to enjoy the hotel, and I truly didn't expect this level of quality. The hotel's external environment is just 'okay' — a large lawn and a few pools.
