This time, I brought my family to Shanghai, and I decisively chose the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Our five-day, four-night stay far exceeded our expectations, and I simply have to praise it!
The location is truly impeccable – a 'golden spot'! The hotel is right in the heart of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Just a few steps out the door, you're in a bustling commercial area, surrounded by major brand stores and unique snack shops. Shopping and dining require no detours at all. The Bund is only a 10-minute walk away, where you can enjoy the river breeze and admire the 'architecture of nations' at night – cozy and romantic. People's Square and Yu Garden are also just a short walk or one or two subway stops away. Transportation is incredibly convenient, making it stress-free for travel with seniors and children, saving a lot of commuting time.
The hotel facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained, unlike some older hotels that can feel dated. The room we booked was spacious, with 28-30㎡, ample for three people without feeling cramped. The bedding was soft and comfortable, with just the right amount of support, ensuring a very sound sleep. The bathroom had a well-designed wet/dry separation, hot water was supplied promptly and at a stable temperature, and there was plenty of counter space for toiletries and skincare products to be neatly arranged. The room had excellent natural light, and opening the window offered a wide view of the lively pedestrian street. The air conditioning provided good heating and ran quietly, without disturbing our rest. Furthermore, the hotel's breakfast restaurant offered a rich variety, with a full selection of Chinese and Western dishes, including hot dishes, cold appetizers, pastries, fruits, and beverages. The taste was authentic and could satisfy different palates. The fitness center was well-equipped, suitable for those who want to maintain their workout routine during their travels. Overall, the amenities fully met our vacation needs.
What surprised us the most was the front desk service, and I especially want to thank Manager Aries Fan for her attentive and efficient assistance throughout. Upon check-in, the staff were enthusiastic and proactive, quickly completing the formalities and patiently providing information on hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation routes. They even proactively upgraded our room's orientation. During our trip, we temporarily needed to print an itinerary, and the front desk helped us immediately without hesitation, with high efficiency. Whenever we had questions, the staff always responded with a smile and patiently answered, without any perfunctoriness. Upon check-out, they also proactively asked about our stay and offered warm farewell wishes, showing professionalism and warmth in every detail.
Whether it's the location, the facilities, or the service, this hotel scores full marks. It offers excellent value for money and is suitable for family trips, romantic getaways, or business travel. The next time I come to Shanghai, I will definitely choose this place again, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Shanghai!
