Just a gate.No more than that
It is a gate of Japanese traditional house but no more than that. They won't require any money so it won't harm you.Just pass by and take a look. That's all.
It is right next to Yoshika Park. It is the Nagayamon of the Kagawa family, who served as chief retainer of the Iwakuni clan, and is designated as a cultural property of the prefecture. It has a considerable impact like a set of historical dramas. According to the explanation board, it was donated to Iwakuni City from the owner Kagawa clan, but it was probably difficult to manage the maintenance cost and tax, and it was difficult to manage it by individual. I thought about it.
In front of the entrance of Yoshika Park, the front gate of the residence of senior vassals of the Iwakuni domain still exists. It is a heavy building with a black main tiled roof and a white plaster wall, and it feels like a representative of a simple and rigid samurai residence. You can't see the inside.
Yoshika Park is located near Kintai Bridge. Nagayamon preserved there. Since it was built in the Edo period, you can feel the weight of dignity and history. The best sight in this park.
Exit Yoshika Park and head again to Kintai Bridge. There is a long black cherry blossom and a gate, and a guide tag called "Kagawa Ienagayamon" is hung. I wondered who Mr. Kagawa was, but he was a samurai family who was appointed as Karo when Mr. Yoshikawa was transferred to Iwakuni. I couldn't see the inside.
