    Changzhou House Placement

    Original Text

There is a stone monument at the site of the Choshu mansion near the intersection of Kawaramachi Oike. It seems that a vast mansion was now spreading around the area where Hotel Okura was built. There is also a statue of Kogoro Katsura on the west side of the hotel.

    Near Hotel Okura

    Original Text

Speaking of the Choshu clan in Kyoto, it is famous for Sonno Joi, but it seems that the mansion was just around Hotel Okura. There was a small stone monument.

    Changzhou の Beijing の point

    Original Text

There is a monument and an explanation board on the south side of Hotel Okura. It seems that there was a mansion of the Choshu clan from Ichinofuneiri in Nijo, Kiyacho to Oike-dori. It seems that the Choshu clan's products were carried using the Takase River and economic activities were active. There is a statue of Takayoshi Kido on the west side of the hotel, and a company related to Genzui Kusaka is built on the north side, so it seems that Hotel Okura has a lot of history related to the Choshu clan.

    Kyoto Hotel Okura

    Original Text

The "Choshu Mansion Ruins Monument" is located in a corner of Kyoto Hotel Okura. The residence of the Choshu clan is the residence of the Mori clan of the Choshu clan, but it seems that it was a vast site. The north and south are large from Oike-dori to Ichinofune-ri, and the east and west are from Kiyamachi-dori to Kawaramachi-dori. It seems that it was destroyed by fire in the Kinmon Incident in 1864 at the end of the Edo period, and then it became a training ground for Choshu soldiers. The stone monument was erected in 1938.

It is the front line of the hottest domain at the end of the Edo period.

    Original Text

It's an activity base in Kyoto, Choshu, where the theory of Sonnojoi became hot. Even if it is influenced by Shoin Yoshida, it feels different to stand out so much. Get off at Kyoto City Hall on the Tozai Line and go up from the Hotel Okura side.
