On the way to castle
Shinonome Shrine is located on the way from the ropeway station to the castle. If you take a ropeway, you miss this shrine. If you walk by climbing steps, you can visit it. It is not hard to walk, so ...
There is a stone steps at the entrance next to the ropeway platform of Matsuyama Castle. When you go up the 197 stone steps, you can see the shrine (sweat). It is a magnificent shrine with blue green on the roof and green stones, so it has a beautiful atmosphere. However, it seems that there are only stone steps to come here, so I thought it would be tough for the elderly. Also, if you follow the road next to this shrine, you will join the road to Matsuyama Castle.
CP Matsuyama Castle is also on foot to serve Matsuyama's powerful breakfast. It is literally a shrine at the eastern foot of Shiroyama that enshrines the founder of the domain, Mr. Matsudaira. A little past the lift platform, you will see a hall of worship through the torii gate across the stone steps, the pillars, the mountain gate, and even the stone steps. Due to being destroyed by fire, it is a relatively new building in the 1970s, and it is not elaborate. After worshiping, it leads to the road to the castle, and it is a gentle slope that does not require as much labor as a stone steps.
There is a climbing gate just past the ropeway platform at Matsuyama Castle. If you use the ropeway to go, it's on the way, so it's a good idea to walk down. The stairs are quite steep, so I'm tired, but probably because of that, there were few people in the shrine and it was a quiet place.
Toun Shrine was on the north side of the ropeway platform that goes up to Matsuyama Castle. There is a long uphill stone steps from the shopping street in front of the ropeway platform. As I climbed the stone steps, I found a magnificent shrine. The shrine is located just below Matsuyama Castle. That should be the case, and this Toun Shrine enshrines the ancestor of the Hisamatsu Matsudaira family, the lord of Matsuyama domain.
