There is also an exhibition room where the Kamezuka Kofun tumulus in the southern part of Oita City and the surrounding area are maintained as a park and excavated items are placed. The tumulus itself is a large front and rear burial mound with a total length of 116 meters, reproducing the appearance of that time. Currently, residential areas are nearby, but probably were near the coastline at that time. Parking and exhibition rooms are free.
It is a park in Oita Prefecture with an old burial mound that is said to be one of the largest in line with Kitsuki's Kokumayama burial mounds. It is a beautiful front and rear burial mound, and it is a real reproduction of what was built in the early 5th century. You can reach the top of the tomb in 5 minutes immediately from the parking lot. In addition, there is a sarcophagus at the top of the tomb, the door is open, and there is a stone monument with an explanation on the side. It is located on a small hill about 10 by car from JR Sakanoichi Station. There was also a museum next to it. The shape of the tumulus is a little trapezoidal in front, but it is classified as a front-rear burial mound. It is well maintained and you can climb on the burial mound.
