A temple of the Shingon sect Otani school built in front of Honmachi station and in the office district. The common name is Minamido. At the end of the Azuchi Momoyama period, Honganji No. １２ Daikyo Nyojonin started building Otani Honganji Temple in Watanabe, Osaka. The current main hall is stylish, but it is a temple with a history of ４００ more than a year. The Bonsho cast at the time of its founding, which is still left in the precincts. The bonsho engraved with the inscription of Otani Hongan Ji Temple is also designated as a tangible cultural property in Osaka city.
