A day of walking till legs break 🥲 Signed up online for a one-day tour of Luoyang Laojun Mountain, gathered at the meeting point at 9:10, and arrived at Laojun Mountain about 2 and a half hours by car. We took the first-level cable car Yunjing Cableway up, started climbing from Zhongtianmen, and climbed for nearly 4 hours to reach the Golden Summit, which included time for taking photos📸+playing on the glass cableway+resting. The glass plank road to the platform of SheShen Cliff for taking photos is very picturesque, and there are not many people, this is the key point haha🤣 The 580 steps before the Ten-Mile Gallery are the most physically demanding, climbing until legs break. There is a direct elevator from the Ten-Mile Gallery to the Golden Summit, 40 yuan/person. After climbing these hundreds of steps, most of the rest is flat. People who can't climb the mountain⛰️ can take the second-level cableway directly to the Golden Summit. We didn't see the sea of clouds☁️ that day, it's a bit of a pity~ There are really a lot of people traveling during the New Year's holiday, we climbed to the Golden Summit and couldn't squeeze into the Golden Summit, because everyone was waiting for the lights to turn on, most people were squeezed at the platform of the Taoist Mansion. The lights turned on at 5:20, maybe it wasn't completely dark yet, personally, I didn't find it very amazing. Either wait until it's dark, the lights are more obvious before returning, but can't catch the time to leave for the one-day tour. It is recommended to wait for the lights at the platform leading to the exit and the Peak Forest Cableway, because after the lights are on, there are really too many people leaving, all rushing to leave at 7:40 in the evening. Otherwise, it's hard to squeeze into the return channel. We left to line up for the Peak Forest Cableway and the first-level cableway and waited for nearly 2 hours to get down the mountain, there were too many people!!! If you take the first-level cableway Yunjing Cableway, you also need to take the Yunjing Cableway when you leave, the same goes for the Zhongtian Cableway. If you want a great view of the long stretch of carvings from afar, hop to the other side of the Yi River - there is a viewing platform where you can see a great panoramic view of the grottoes. If you’re looking for a place to escape new buildings and skyscrapers, Longmen is a good place for you. It’s doable in a day from Luoyang or Zhengzhou and you can have a nice walk around. Most pictures were taken with my DJI Mini 2.

White horse temple

Very good visit, felt fresh and was fantastic to see the people enjoying their costumes. Strongly suggest to stop by the tea house inside, simple and quiet free tea for visitors. The international temples part can be skipped specially if you have visited the real thing. You get there by taxi or didi and come back to the city the same way. The Oldest Buddhist Temple in China

The white horse temple has been at the epicentre of Chinese history since the year 68AD when it was established by Emperor Ming in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Here, Buddhism was first established in the country, with the temple being built to honour the two Indian monks and their white horses that brought the religion to China (hence the name). The gardens and buildings are beautiful, and if you are lucky enough to visit during April, you will see hundreds of blossoming Chinese peonies.

This is how prosperous ancient city should looks at the days of its flourishing and day and night non stop mode life. I have arrived pretty early so there were no visitors, just a few elders playing Majong. That was pretty nice morning walk through the replicas of houses of that epoch passed long time ago. Good option for taking pictures.
