Keukenhof Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Tulip festival
Nice weather and beautiful flowers. Alot of different varieties of tulips at indoor and outdoors. Took a bus shuttle from Rai Train station. Crowded in the afternoon. Can ride a bicycle to explore the gardens. One of the must visit attraction in Amsterdam during end Mar to May. Will recommend to friends as well. Many food vendors in the park and relaxing to take a stroll. Spend almost 1 day taking pictures and admiring the full blooms.

Keukenhof Park is also known as the Garden of Europe. It is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the municipality of Lisse, in the Netherlands. Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens annually. Keukenhof Park is widely known for its tulips, and it also features numerous other flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, roses, carnations and irises.
Keukenhof is located in the province of South Holland, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam in the area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek). It is accessible by bus from Haarlem and Leiden train stations as well as Schiphol. Though its grounds are open year-round for private affairs and festivals, Keukenhof is only open to the general public for a world-renowned 8 week tulip display from mid-March to mid-May, with peak viewing arriving near mid-April, depending on growing season weather, which varies annually

Keukenhof Holland Tulip Season
KEUKENHOF 🌷 1, 2 or 3 ? Memories from my little trip in Holland during the tulip season two years ago ! I got the chance to visit the famous Keukenhof Garden and was blown away by the colors and shapes of the tulips. I heard it is unfortunately not allowed to open for the second year in a row so I hope it will be open next year as it is truly a must-do for anyone who is visiting this part of the country near Amsterdam 🙏 Have you ever been ?

Canals of Amsterdam Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Church of Our Lady
Beautiful Catholic church built in gothic architectural style. The tranquility in such a busy city, the beauty of the building and the images, the charisma of the churchgoers indeed a very beautiful church and even more inside. I really liked the columns, the vault, the altar and the windows.
Good spirituality Constructive contribution to your inner development. This is possible here through the sacraments of communion and confession. There is also regular Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, also known as Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

There are more than 160 canals in Amsterdam stretching over 100 kilometers (that’s around 60 miles). I Love Amsterdam! Lovely time walking around the canals. The typical Amsterdam canal houses that are so pretty! Distinctive, worth a city walk, to experience the beauty of the canal. So many great views from so many streets.

sunset boat cruise in Amsterdam canals
This is a must do if you are in the city, the streets are too crowded with tourists and noisy. You want to getaway from the noise of the city but still appreciate the beauty of its canals and views from the water. It’s a totally different experience compared to walking around. 🛥
It’s not cheap but really worth your time and money. I will do it again if I’m back in Amsterdam. I will go for a champagne and cured meats with cheese. That will be perfect 👍🏻
For those who afraid of seasickness, fred not, this has no current no waves, just smooth magic carpet ride, smoother than limousine on the road. Therfore you can enjoy even a hot tea or coffee ☕️ on the boat.

Zaanse Schans Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Dutch countryside
The windmill town - Zaanse Schans is a village with authentic wooden houses, windmills, a wooden shoe workshop, cheese factory, and more crafts that give an impression of life in the Netherlands. The windmills of Zaanse Schans is a must-do tourist attraction in the Netherlands and can easily be visited on a day trip from Amsterdam. You cannot say you have visited Amsterdam without visiting this most famous rural town In Netherlands.

Zaanse Schans–Windmill Village near Amsterdam
From amsterdam with ❤️
The Zaanse Schans is an open-air museum that’s fun for all ages. Open year round, Zaans Schans is a free outdoor park with a collection of historical windmills. While the Zaanse Schans can be visited any time of year, the majority of the windmills are open to visitors from April to October. Besides windmills, you can also visit the souvenir shops, see clogs being made or visit a cheese farm near the Zaanse Schans.

🇳🇱 Truly a real Dutch experience 🚴🏼♂️
Zaanse Schans offers the picturesque countryside views and most beautiful windmill landscape, It's a unique part of the Netherlands. We stayed at b&b homestay nearby, as it’s only about a 10 minutes cycling to the village. The village full of wooden houses, windmills, barns and workshops, and the water sight are definitely worth visiting.
The windmills are the main attractions here, there are about 10 windmills, half of which are fully functional and can be visited (for an entrance fee). Several historic buildings were added in recent years. The clog workshop is part of museum, part demonstration, part souvenir store, like many of the shops, clogs were made by hand by a craftsman.
I loved the chance to soak up the history, explore the windmills, and learn about the Zaan district. It is one of the most popular destination in the Netherlands and located quite near to the city, very convenient assess with public transport.

Zaanse Schans, Netherlands - Seeing Windmill
Getting There - by train from Amsterdam
Attractions - windmills, old town charm
Food & Restaurants - various
Shopping - souvenirs
Zaanse Schans is famous for their windmills and the area is like a mini open air museums. It is also easily accessible by train from Amsterdam as a day trip.
One can spend a few hours exploring the neighborhood and small town charm.
One memorable experience is discovering the toll bridge for the ships, basically the bridge will open up to let the ships go past. As we were busy taking photos of the rainbow at the bridge (first photo), we did not realize the toll bridge was going to open up by splitting. Luckily, some kind locals warned us in time.
We saw a lot of farm animals like sheep, goats and even a cute cat whilst exploring the area.
It is nice to spend some time away from the city and explore this place with its own history.

Rijksmuseum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Historical Amsterdam museum
Museum-hopping in Amsterdam is really convenient as many of their famous museums are located within the vicinity of one another in the borough of Amsterdam South. This one we visited was the Rijksmuseum, showcasing mainly the artworks and heritage symbols of the Dutch.
The entry tickets are fairly pricey, costing around 24 euros per adult, but the artefacts on display are very aesthetic and meaningful. There was even a huge notebook for the public to pen their hopes and well-wishes based on the theme of one of the art pieces!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rijkmuseum Amsterdam
One of the top museums here in Amsterdam and definitely a must-seen! Its very popular so better book the ticket in advance online. It's quite huge, if you wanna see everything you will have to take a whole day. The museun offers free apps which you can download easily on your phone, so you don't need to rent extra audio guide. Some of the important master pieces are on a tour exhibition so we didn't get to see then, which it's a pity. Make sure you visit the museum gift shop! So many interesting items!
Amsterdam!
Amsterdam has been so pretty!
Amsterdam is the capital of Netherlands, and it is full of artistic heritage, canals, bikes, and unique sights. It houses many museums as well, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, etc.
The city is easily accessible through train, bus, or plane through Schiphol Airport. To get around Amsterdam, main modes of transport are buses, trams, metro, sprinter, and even through cycling. It is very common to see people cycling here and they even have bike lanes everywhere.
The people here also generally speak good English, so it’s very easy to communicate with the locals. A really nice place to visit!

The Most Amazing Place in Amsterdam
The Museum Quarter in Amsterdam is one of my personal favorites. Relax on the grass field or chill at the fountain. Enough to see and do!
You could easily spend days in this quarter without visiting any of the other areas this remarkable city has to offer.#summervacation Protip, there is an small garden on the northeast side. You might be lucky and might find art students there doing some paintings or drawings.
