The hostel is located in the Old Town, which is convenient as the bus stop is only a 3-minute walk away. However, it's situated in a small alley, and there's a stretch of road without streetlights when returning from the main square, which felt a bit unsafe at night. The owner was always helpful in solving various issues, for example, when I wanted to boil a couple of eggs in the morning. There's a water dispenser available in the common area, which is handy. The day before I checked in, guests reported no hot water, initially thinking it was due to late-night usage. The next day, it was still cold. When asked, the owner said a circuit breaker had tripped. Once fixed, the water was very hot, so it's important to report any problems promptly. It was advertised as a 4-bed dorm, but it was actually a 5-bed dorm, which was quite a surprise. The owner claimed it couldn't be changed on the platform, a reason I found hard to accept. Even if the main listing couldn't be altered, they could have added a note in the remarks section. Otherwise, it feels like deception, especially for a 'non-refundable' booking where no money is returned. This was the case for both the female and male dorms. With many guests staying, the cleanliness of the common areas struggled to keep up. Also, I didn't seem to find any lockable personal lockers. The owner, who uses a wheelchair, runs this hostel, which is commendable, and the price is good. However, the issues mentioned above do exist. Luckily, I only stayed for one night as a stopover.

The guesthouse is located in the old town. The roads are quite narrow, and some sections are currently under construction with engineering vehicles. Although there are alternative routes to reach the entrance, some drivers might not be familiar with them. If you return to the guesthouse too late, drivers might be reluctant to drive all the way in because the path is too dark and difficult to navigate, so you may need to walk a short distance yourself. The room is simple but very spacious. Please note that toiletries and an electric kettle are not provided (though you can boil water in the kitchen), and you will also need to prepare your own bottled water. Fortunately, there is a small convenience store right next door where you can buy these items. During my stay, it rained one day and there was a brief power outage, but electricity was restored very quickly. The host is wonderful and speaks fluent English. Upon check-in, he gave me a map and briefly explained the locations of key attractions and some restaurants. When I checked out, he even helped me with my luggage and called a taxi for me. If you have any questions, he will always answer them patiently. The guesthouse is about a 15-minute walk from Registan. There are more restaurants around the Bibi-Khanym Mosque area, where you can also find a tourist information center that helps mail postcards. If you don’t demand the facilities of a brand-name hotel, the overall experience is very good.

A very good hotel! The room was clean and cozy, with pristine white linens. We were a party of three and had three beds in the room, along with a TV, fridge, and air conditioning. The owner was incredibly hospitable and kind. The location is convenient, with most places just a 10-minute taxi ride away. We used Yandex Taxi, which was very cheap at only 100-200 rubles.

The breakfast is quite substantial, with warm dishes that change daily, plus bread, pancakes, fruits, and nuts. They also serve a pot of tea (black tea, green tea, coffee). The dormitory beds are spacious and tall, ensuring a comfortable stay. The common area in the courtyard offers dappled sunlight and protection from the heat. The owner is very clean and the cleaning is thorough, and they are always willing to kindly help with any questions or concerns. The best part about this hotel is its location. Being within walking distance to major tourist attractions, I was able to frequently go out in the early mornings and evenings during my stay.

On my last day of independent travel in Samarkand, I had an 8 AM train, so I wouldn't be able to make breakfast. I informed the front desk in advance to prepare the check-in certificate (the small slip of paper) for me in the morning. This is a Uzbekistan regulation; if you've been traveling here for more than three days, border control might randomly check your accommodation certificates from hotels and guesthouses when you exit the country. They also prepared a packed meal for me. The staff member on duty in the morning quickly sorted everything out. Since this hotel is located on a pedestrian street, arriving and departing by ride-sharing service requires going to a spot not far diagonally across from the hotel, then passing through a small gate to a back street to pinpoint the pick-up/drop-off location. For arrivals, contact the hotel beforehand, and they will email you the details. For departures, some ride-sharing drivers might get confused and have trouble finding the spot. It's usually not a big deal, but when we left in the morning, it happened twice, and we almost had to ask the front desk staff to call a car for us.

Location: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination. My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea. Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints. On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.

A really good hotel with a great location. It’s very walkable, about 2 km walk to Registan Square, and surrounded by plenty of markets and local restaurants. Everything we needed was right in the area, which made our stay very convenient and enjoyable. The bed was super comfy and the room felt very cozy, perfect for resting after a long day out. Overall, we loved our stay here and would happily choose this place again. A solid choice for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a nice local vibe.

Although taxis can't pull right up to the hotel entrance, they can get very close, so it's not inconvenient at all. It's about a 5-minute walk to Registan Square, making it a very convenient hotel for sightseeing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, including some delicious vegetable options like eggplant and cauliflower that I hadn't seen elsewhere.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: A bit old. Location: Tucked away in an alley. Cleanliness: Decent. Service: Good. The little white note indicates they can open (the room/door) proactively. They allowed an early check-in, and adding just 5,000 won for breakfast was a great deal! I recommend taking a taxi here; otherwise, you'll never find the place.

HHami NguyenThis guest house is a wonderful budget-friendly option in Samarkand. It’s conveniently located near the city center, only about 2 km from Registan Square and other major attractions, making it very easy to get around. The room rates are affordable, with options for 2 or 4 guests, which is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host is incredibly kind, gentle, and always willing to help with anything you need. One of the highlights was the homemade breakfast prepared by the family — generous, delicious, and offering a wide variety of dishes each morning. For easier navigation or when booking a taxi, it’s best to search for “Bilol Hotel” on Google Maps. Wishing this lovely guest house continued success and many more happy guests in the future!

EEsther YK LawThe location of the hotel is excellent which is just a very short walking distance from the railway station. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is clean and the decor is warm. The small garden outside the restaurant is very beautiful. The breakfast is good. It offers value for money staying experience.
