Jinsha Nunnery

Jinsha Nunnery is located on Zaojunmiao Street, Chengdu, facing south and close to Caoshi Street. Formerly known as Huaguang Temple, it was built during the Qianlong period. In the main hall, a clay statue of Thousand-handed Guanyin was originally enshrined. Guanyin held a golden sand in his hand. Renamed Huaguang Temple to Jinsha Temple. Jinsha Nunnery is one of the most compact temples in the urban area of Chengdu. It covers an area of about five acres and has triple temples. There are two circular arches on both sides of the mountain gate leading directly to the main hall. The Daxiong Palace is a wooden structure in the Qing Dynasty, with beautiful shape and rigorous structure. The Qing Dynasty ancient plaque on the door of the hall is exquisite in craftsmanship, and the offerings are antique. Jinsha Temple, an ancient temple that has experienced hundreds of years of vicissitudes, is still quietly located in the busy city. The ancient mountain gate and the elegant and unique courtyard form a strong contrast with the modern architecture and bustling scene of Caoshi Street, which makes people feel a kind of pure heart.
