Douji Mountain

Douji Mountain is located on the east side of Chongxin Road in Guilin City, on the west bank of Lijiang River, opposite to Nanxi Mountain in the north, with an altitude of 288 meters and a relative height of 138 meters. The mountain covers an area of 68,500 square meters. The rooster holds its head high, hence the name. Because the shape of the mountain is like a turtle lying on the riverside, it is also known as Turtle Mountain. The ancients collectively called the Chuanshan Mountain on the opposite bank the Fighting Cock Mountain, because it faced each other across the river, like a rooster vibrating its feathers. The original gentleman's pavilion built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty in the foothills of Shanxi no longer exists today. The Ming Dynasty literati Kong Yong wrote in the poem "Fighting the Chicken Mountain": "When the clever stones are like chickens about to fight, the crown of the crown is far away from the water. I have never seen Hongluo wrapped around the neck.
