it's next to the east of mizuzenji seijuen.
Original Text
I went around the large and beautiful Suizenji Seijuen clockwise around the central pond. The next thing I headed for was the former residence of Natsume Soseki Oe. The place is right east of Suizenji Seishuen, but it was in a residential area with irregular narrow roads, so it took a little time to find it. It was a Meiji building with a wooden outer wall. I was able to tour the inside. There were several Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats, and the floor plan was large enough.
On the east side of the wide Mizuzenji Seishuen, there was this old building, the former residence of Soseki Natsume > Until I visited this building, I didn't know that Soseki Natsume lived in Kumamoto. Soseki lived in a house of 6 during his life in Kumamoto for 4 years 3 months. This former residence is one of them, which was originally in Oe Village and was relocated and restored to its current location. The house with a board appearance was a relatively large house with several tatami mats.
It is the former residence of Natsume Soseki, a literary master. It is currently open for free. Inside, panels related to hanging scrolls and Natsume Soseki are on display. Due to the corona, hand disinfection, temperature measurement, name, and contact information are required. It is also close to Suizenji Seishuen, so we recommend that you stop by. The way to get there is just complicated and difficult to understand, but you can see it when you go along the east side of Seijuen. It feels like you are always looking at the fence of Seijuen on your left.
Natsume Soseki's third former residence (Oe former residence) is located behind Seijuen. It was easy to find because there is a sign. While there are many places that collapsed due to the earthquake, you can see the inside of this old residence for free. When you book and go inside, the volunteers explained carefully. There is an exhibition that knows the footprints of Soseki.
Soseki Natsume, a literary master in the Meiji era, lived as an English teacher at the 5th High School for 4 years from 29 years old 3 months. In the meantime, he changed his residence six times. It is adjacent to Mizuzenji Park. It was early in the morning, so it is a tour from the outside. This building was moved to its current location in 1972 at the third former residence (Oemura former residence). I remembered the novel I read when I was a student. If you are interested in Natsume literature, why not visit it?
