A slope to Hogon Ji Temple
Original Text
A gentle slope from the hot spring town of Dogo to Hogonji Temple where Ippen Shonin was born. I've heard that it used to be a custom town, but now it's a rural residential area with no unusual feelings.
Is it a kamijinzaka because it is the approach slope of Hogonji Temple where Ippen Shonin was born? Certainly, if you climb, you will hit Hogonji Temple.
It is like the approach to Hogonji Temple, which is said to be the birthplace of the founder of Jishu Ippen Shonin. It seems that it was named from there, and there is a monument with a name in front of the temple. It used to be called Shirori or Neonzaka, and it seems that there was an entertainment district element, but now it has no remnants.
Kamijinzaka is a slope leading to Hogonji Temple. It's a straight road to the temple, so it's probably the approach to Hogonji Temple, but it was a gentle slope extending to an ordinary residential area that seems to be in any city. It's the approach to Hogonji Temple, where Ippen Shonin was born, so it's "Kamijinzaka".
After visiting Isaniba Shrine, head to a temple called Hogonji, which is located north of it. After going down the long stone steps of Isaniba Shrine and heading north a little, there was a road to Hogonji Temple. This road is Shoninzaka. Hogonji Temple is the place where Ippen Shonin was born, so it seems that he named it "Shoninzaka" on this slope leading there. It didn't feel like the approach to the temple, but it was a road that felt like a normal life road.
