We are Malaysian & can speak mandarin. Don’t worry if you’re non-chinese speaker, they will try their best to communicate with you. Sonzhuju Coffee & Tea Holiday Villa is convenient for those who bring big luggage. They have a service to help carry your luggage too, from the main road (approx 170m). And please let them know once you arrived at the main road! The hotel is away from loud noise & busy from the main area. Cosy place & strategic for us staying in 3D2N. The room was clean. Breakfast included, but for Muslims, please mention that you’re Muslim, then they will prepare you veggie options. And you can choose to have your meal in your room or their eating area.

Ai Fei, a local host from the hotel, was very helpful in arranging our customised tour trip. We texted the hotel via WeChat 8–9 days prior to our arrival in Lijiang. We asked if there was any local there who could advise us on the trip and straightaway they made a group for discussion. He'd make sure that we were all okay & happy to discuss our plan to visit any area that we would like to go to. He arranged our private car trip to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley and brought the ticket for us too. Upon we'd arrived at the hotel, he served us a welcome tea, fruit and flower cake. From the next morning we are going to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley. He advised us on what the do’s and don't prior to our trip. The private driver that he helped arrange for us was also very helpful & patient to ensure that we felt safe going to the place (group chat). He also helped to arrange a private car for us to Shangri-la. Overall, he made our plan and trip smoothly.

As for the Muslims, you can ask him or the hotel host to recommend where the nearest Muslim restaurant they will definitely find for you.
Overall, definitely recommend staying here. We are happy with our stay here.

The hotel room was spotless and very quiet at night, which is a huge plus for anyone who values good sleep – highly recommend it! The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming.

Staying here when catching a flight is such a lifesaver! I stayed at this hotel last time I was in Kunming too. It's right by the airport and they offer free shuttle service, so no need to hassle with taxis or finding your way – super convenient. The room was spotlessly clean, no weird smells or dust anywhere, which was a real pleasure to see. The bed was incredibly comfortable, just the right balance of soft and firm, making it easy to relax and get a good night's sleep, no matter how tired I was from traveling. Whether you have an early morning flight or arrive late, this place is perfect. It's hassle-free, comfortable, and offers great value for money for travelers. Highly recommend!

Got a free room upgrade booking through Trip.com and the room ambiance and facilities were wonderful. The staff speak enough English to get by for your basic needs. There is a small courtyard on the roof where you can eat breakfast, have complimentary tea and chat with other travelers or the staff, and get an amazing view of the nearby snow mountain. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, able to assist any of your travel needs and very open to making connections with travelers on a personal level, even after you're on your way to the next place.

Fabulous hotel. Stylish room with high standard amenities in the room. Great shampoo! It's a bit hard to find but we managed to get a Didi from the high speed railway station for 32 RMB. There is an elevator inside the 99Y clothes store that brings you to the 4th floor. A woman in a very simple room will give you your key. The hotel seems to have a different name in English: Aina Hotel. Regardless, it isn't so easy to find for an English speaker. The room is spacious and cosy. Comfortable bedding. Very well designed sitting area. Ceinling fan and Air-conditioning. Large flat screen TV. I loved the teapot and cup set. The hotel gives a nice tea and honey as a free gift. We weren't disturbed by noise despite it being in a popular tourist area. Everything is close by too. Fun to visit the park along the river. We went 2 nights there. I highly recommend.

The hotel is really great — I absolutely love it 😍 It’s about a 15-minute walk from Kunming Railway Station. There are many restaurants around the hotel, including several halal options nearby. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I booked 4 rooms, and all of them were upgraded for free. Thank you — the service was truly excellent! And most importantly, the hotel provides free laundry and dryers. I will definitely come back!

Very cool and authentic place , warm,poetic and nostalgic. We enjoy staying there three days. The thoughtfulness they showed us is excellent , They even offered a bucket and herbal pack to soak our tired feet. A place you want to come back.

The service was excellent! The only downside was the poor soundproofing. Our neighbors were watching TV and chatting until past midnight... we didn't get a good night's sleep and ended up leaving early this morning! I have to give a shout-out to the breakfast though; it looked simple but was packed with flavor. Especially the rice noodle soup – the broth was slow-cooked with big bones and chicken, absolutely delicious!

I booked the lowest-priced room, which was on a lower floor and didn't have a view of the train station. The more expensive rooms are on higher floors with better views. You get what you pay for. The hotel is very close to Kunming Station, less than a 10-minute walk, which is perfect for catching an early high-speed train. However!!! Please note, the Kunming Station subway exit only leads to the south exit of Kunming Station, while the hotel is located near the north exit. So, if you're taking the subway to the hotel, I strongly advise against getting off at Kunming Station. You'll have to walk an extremely long way. Instead, you can get off at Fude Station and then take a bus to the hotel. Alternatively, get off at Huancheng Nan Lu Station and walk about ten minutes to the hotel. It seems there's a lack of coordination between Kunming Train Station and the subway station, as the subway exit only connects to the south exit, which is very inconvenient.

This was one of the most exciting and memorable stays during our trip in Yunnan. I had many warm and meaningful conversations with the owner, and I can truly say that the entire staff was extremely kind, attentive, and always ready to help whenever we needed anything. Their support made our stay feel very easy and comfortable. We stayed in a lovely room furnished entirely in traditional Chinese style, which made the experience feel truly unique and authentic. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and every detail reflected the local character. One of the best things about this accommodation is its location. It is right inside the Old Town of Lijiang—quiet and peaceful, yet at the same time you really feel like you are part of the old town itself. It never felt noisy, but instead warm, lively, and full of atmosphere. The courtyard is beautifully designed in classic Lijiang style, creating a space where guests can truly relax. I stayed on the second floor, and every afternoon I could enjoy the warm sunlight while looking down into the courtyard. Those moments felt incredibly romantic and special, and they gave me a deep sense of connection to the place. A very special highlight were the two dogs, so typical of Lijiang. They are quite big, but incredibly gentle and friendly, and they truly made the place feel like home. Their presence added warmth and character to the stay and made everything feel even more welcoming. This is one of those accommodations where foreign guests can genuinely feel at home while experiencing the real spirit of Lijiang. Everything about this stay felt authentic and heartfelt. I can recommend this place to everyone with complete confidence—it was simply perfect, a true 10 out of 10.
