The staff went above and beyond throughout my entire stay. They were always available to help with anything, answered every question patiently, recommended great local restaurants, and even arranged airport and high-speed rail station transfers, making the trip completely stress-free. One of the most thoughtful moments was when I had to leave very early in the morning for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Knowing that most breakfast places would not be open yet, the hotel prepared a simple breakfast for me in advance so I wouldn't have to start the day hungry. It was a small gesture that left a big impression. The rooftop offers a beautiful view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the regular breakfast was delicious every day. The ******* butter tea activity was also a memorable experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about local culture, meet other guests, and share stories together. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The level of hospitality here is exceptional. If I ever return to Lijiang, I will definitely here again😍😍 And their dog is so cute🤩

A delightful stopover during our Dali trip, Van Gogh Lodge truly excels in both soft and hard amenities. The room layouts are thoughtfully designed, offering suitable options whether you're looking for scenic views or a quiet retreat. The butler service is warm and courteous, ensuring everything from check-in to relaxation is perfectly arranged. The rooms are dry and comfortable, making for a truly wonderful overall stay. Highly recommended!

Convenient option if you’re arriving late or catching an early flight, as the hotel is very close to Kunming Airport and saves you the trip into the city. The airport pick-up and drop-off service is smooth and reliable, which makes arrival and departure hassle-free. Check-in was easy, and the staff were welcoming. A small but thoughtful touch was the complimentary flower cake on arrival, which added a nice local feel to the stay. Overall, a practical and comfortable choice for a short airport stopover.

The exquisite afternoon tea and freshly ground coffee were absolutely perfect for me, I really enjoyed them. From the moment we walked in, we felt a warm welcome and the atmosphere was fantastic. The kids didn't want to leave! The location is great, and you don't even have to carry your own luggage; if you book in advance, the owner will help you with it. It's also convenient for shopping. The modern decor, spacious rooms, excellent natural light, and good ventilation were all highlights. Our family room easily accommodated four people without feeling cramped at all. Overall, our stay here was excellent and I highly recommend it.

Our stay at Shangri-La was truly unforgettable and exceeded all expectations! Before sharing details about our stay, we would like to give special recognition to several team members whose outstanding service made such a positive impact on our experience: 麦克, 小钢, Alan, 小罗, and 小雨. Each of them demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. We are writing this review in large part because we hope management is aware of their incredible efforts, as they truly represent the very best of the hotel’s hospitality. Even before we arrived, the team created a WeChat group and warmly welcomed us, making us feel cared for from the very beginning. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Upon arrival, the staff helped carry our very heavy luggage to our room and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time at the hotel. After check-in, 麦克 gave us a detailed tour of the room and thoughtfully explained how to use the oxygen supply, which immediately put us at ease. He was also incredibly helpful in recommending places to visit and things to do in the area. His advice, including reminding us not to shower on our first night due to the high altitude, helped us acclimatize comfortably and avoid altitude-related discomfort. We also had the opportunity to make flower candles during our stay, which was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to 小钢, who patiently guided us through the activity and even carefully packed our finished candles so beautifully that all we had to do was pick them up and bring them home the next day. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful example of the attention to detail that made our stay so special. One of the highlights was the beautiful property and the adorable animals on-site. Alan even took the time to cut fresh carrots for us to feed the goats, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. The hospitality never stopped, no matter how late it was. We returned to the hotel around 11pm one evening after a long day of exploring, and 麦克 prepared comforting hot dessert soup for us (despite it being past the time for dessert soup). It was exactly what we needed and such a memorable gesture that made us feel truly cared for. Another moment that stood out was late one night when we realized we needed extra towels and pillows. 小罗 responded quickly and kindly helped us get everything we needed despite the late hour. His willingness to assist us so promptly made us feel incredibly well looked after and was yet another example of the outstanding service we experienced throughout our stay. We were also especially grateful to 小雨 for helping us navigate a Taobao return during our stay, which could have been quite complicated without her assistance. Several other staff members also kindly helped with collecting my package. Their teamwork and willingness to assist with something beyond the usual scope of hotel services truly impressed us. As our trip came to an end, Alan kindly drove us to the train station early in the morning and gave us a warm send-off. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful stay and reflected the genuine care and hospitality we experienced throughout our time at the hotel. The warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity shown by every member of the team made our experience in Shangri-La truly wonderful. Every interaction reflected a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find, and their genuine care played a significant role in making this trip so memorable. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La. We will definitely be back!

This charming homestay is tucked away on a quiet side street, just a quick 2-minute walk from the main Lianian Street. My friends and I loved the beautiful courtyard and traditional architecture — it really captured the local character of Jianshui. We only stayed one night, right after the Golden Week holidays, and were pleasantly surprised that the staff could arrange spacious rooms for us on the same second floor (I’d recommend choosing the second floor over the first). The staff were friendly and very responsive to our questions and requests. One thing to note: because it’s designed in a traditional courtyard style, you can hear other guests talking if you leave your windows open — but that’s part of the authentic atmosphere!

The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access to Nanping Pedestrian Street, Kunming Old Street, and Jinma Biji Archway right downstairs. It's also a 5-minute walk to the subway station, and a 10-minute taxi ride to Green Lake Park and the Yunnan Military Academy. The surrounding area is packed with local snacks and long-standing eateries. The rooms are well-equipped, spacious, and bright, with clean, separate wet and dry bathrooms and automatic toilets. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety, including freshly made Yunnan rice noodles, *rubing* (a type of cheese), flower pastries, and other local specialties, as well as Western options like cheese, coffee, and pastries, providing a great blend of Chinese and Western choices. The service was warm and courteous; staff even proactively recommended local delicacies, and the concierge kindly helped with our luggage. We also received complimentary fruit.

As a hotel boasting views, it would be great if the room windows could be cleaned more thoroughly with an automatic window cleaner, especially since the scenery is the main selling point. Also, it seems the hotel just opened and hasn't decided whether to be pet-friendly yet. I highly recommend they do! Dog owners who travel with their small dogs and are willing to spend more on good hotels usually have well-behaved pets, and are often very considerate. The views are, without a doubt, amazing, and the staff offers service with a smile. Afternoon tea can be delivered to your room, and you can enjoy the golden sunrise over the mountains right from your room. I hope the hotel continues to improve!

I love the traditional decoration of the hotel, it transports you back to the ancient time. However, the car cannot go in, you have to push your luggage into the street where the hotel is located. It's very near to the big malls and walking distance to the old town. Hotel was very nice to pack our breakfast for us because we have a train to catch early in the morning and the restaurant is not open yet.

The hotel is very picturesque, with a cute courtyard and is located a few steps up from the ancient city. So the location and ambience is very good. However, in contrast to what it says online, the staff doesn’t speak any English, all communication is done via translation app. Also, while we got a really nice room with a lovely view on arrival (and were able to check in early!), there seems to be a problem with the wooden beams and/or ceiling in that part of the house - we had black dust on the bed underneath the beams, the ceiling in the bathroom began crumbling on day 2. There were chunks (approx. 5 centimeters in diameter) on the bathroom floor and the ceiling was sagging in places. We got a new room; however the problem with the black dust and small concrete pieces was also prevalent there. Also, we found small insects on the bed, and the bathroom had a smell. Cleaning was not thorough. We decided to leave early after two nights instead of the planned four, which is a pity because there’s a lot of potential once the hygienic and structural (wood beetles?) problems are addressed.
