La Zebra Tulum, a Small Luxury Hotel ★★★★

"The location is great. The parking lot is just opposite the hotel. The room is a 2-minute walk from the beach. The beach is wide and there are few tourists. I saw the most beautiful sunrise. The large balcony is surrounded by green plants and is very suitable for sunbathing. It is quieter than other hotels at night. The double shower can take a shower at the same time. The hotel thoughtfully prepared three large bottles of drinking purified water and a woven bag for going out... I like Tulum starting from the hotel."

VR Club Tulum Riviera ★★★★

"Despite the fact that there is no road to the hotel - the hotel itself and the beach with service are a bomb! It was very impressive that turtles come to the shore to nest and you can come across small turtles in the morning - very cute! The food in the establishment is also cool! A very relaxing vacation for those who want to relax in a hotel near the beach and not go to the city, everything is here for that. The staff does not bother, does not cling, no one asks for a tip every two seconds and no noisy show programs, although this about the show can probably be attributed to the minuses, because sometimes there is not enough entertainment, but in general I liked everything! Among the minuses, there is not enough small shop to buy some banal things, especially feminine hygiene, or elementary plasters, sun protection creams."

Hotel Shibari - Restaurant & Cenote Club ★★★★★

"First of all the service was beyond bad, it’s as if the staff never communicated with eachother. Upon arrival, we got asked if we were celebrating anything, to which we said yes as it’s our fifth anniversary, and they said they would arrange a surprise for us the next day. We finished our stay without any surprise or acknowledgment as to what had happened, it was just forgotten. They would ask us every day if it was our first time at breakfast, ask about allergies and so on, which on your fifth day at the hotel makes it feel very impersonal. The hotel is also very restrictive in when you can use their amenities, which is laughable when they have no direct beach access. Their pool only opens 11am-6pm, their bikes (which are in horrible shape) can only be hired 9am-6pm…it felt like being at a school camp instead of an alleged 5-star hotel. You are stranded on a street with nothing to do, no signal outside of the hotel, no free beach access and a whopping $40 to get to the town center (which is a 15min drive away). To put the cherry on top, we got called to our room on our last night asking when we would like our bags collected for check-out, they said it was arranged…and it never was. We also never got asked if we had a nice stay upon leaving, nothing. They truly don’t seem to care. Honestly, save yourself the trouble."
