Nita Raft House

As the title of my review says, the staff are great. Knowledgeable of the local area, easy to deal with and very welcoming. I found them incredibly helpful. The owner has fluent English which makes thing easier as well. There are also 4 lovely dogs that greet you every time you arrive home. They always take up 10 minutes of my time when I get back. I was a little put out that the room has no warm water and there are no plug points in the room so charging your items is resigned to leaving them in the common area, although the owner had a solution for this and had an extension cord which ran all the way to my room through the window. The price is good and compared to other options and is the closest riverside accommodation to the bus station. I want to thank the owner for all of his help during my stay.
Siam Guesthouse

I’m honestly surprised with these reviews. It’s quaint and has some Thai charm but that’s it. Perhaps it’s because it’s so quiet ? I had barely a welcome. I asked about booking a tour or driver and was met with confusion. Annoying because I had messaged them before my arrival about whether to book in advance or with them. I was shown to my room then reception closed up, which was after I realised I had no wifi information. I’m sure I was the only guest and put in the worst room at the back near the toilets, pans & cleaning stuff. It was dark and depressing and full of mosquitoes. It was hot, the fridge & air-con were off. There was no security as the windows didn’t lock but you couldn’t have them open either for light because of the mosquitoes. I persevered for an hour but still no one surfaced to discuss these issues, so I cut my losses and moved on.

Views from this hotel are fantastic, being right on the river. I stayed in a fan room, opposite reception, for a ridiculaously cheap price. Room had twin beds, and was quite dated, but can't complain at all considering the cost. No breakfast or coffee options, but there are plenty of restaurants, 7 elevens etc very close by. Only a 10 minute walk from the train station, opposite which there is a night market with a great food choice. Around a 30-40 minute walk to the bridge and JEATH museum. Recommended.
Tara B&B Kanchanaburi

We stayed 2 nights using the BnB as a base for a short biking tour around Kanchanaburi. The staff were so kind and the hotel exceptional value. Perfect location by all the bars and restaurants, 10 min walk from the station (we walked up after getting off the morning train from Bangkok) Breakfast was great, 100 baht for full option. Can also reccomend their Thai food for lunch/dinner. Room clean and set up nicely. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Noble Night Guesthouse

Just an all round nice place to stay. The views were amazing from our balcony and the rooms were on the smaller side but were clean and well air conditioned (needed for the 37°C heat). The pool was really refreshing and the location overlooks the river Kwai, just off a main road full of restaurants and bars which can sometimes be a bit noisy while trying to get asleep but nothing too bad. We also had a few little lizard friends that managed to bunk into our room without paying. None we’re very big but this could be a turn off for some. It was fairly difficult to find people who actually worked there, both when checking in and out, but we enjoyed the place and would gladly stay again.

I stayed here for 3 nights. I loved my stay here. Joy and Fa are amazing and friendly owners. So clean and comfortable. Joy helped me kindly with the paperwork for my visa extension at the local immigration. It's much easier to do visa extension here than in Bangkok. This guesthouse is so close to the bus terminal. Lots of places to eat nearby. The River Kwai Bridge is not too far. The Skywalk is amazing. I loved the Erawan National Park and waterfall which you can take a local bus. You can rent a bike and do your laundry at the guesthouse for a great price. I'd like to thank Joy for all her help and kindness. Thank you.

Thongphaphum Place

Small and very basic (but very inexpensive) room. Very clean. Small double bed, table, AC, TV (didn't try it), cool shower. Could connect to the wifi but had no internet. Only one available power point in the room, and it was 4 feet off the ground - bring a long cable! Good sized car park. Friendly, welcoming staff - not sure if they spoke English, I didn't try. Location is just adjacent to the public market. Be aware that in this town although you can get food during the morning and daytime, dinner time is tougher. There seems to be only one restaurant nearby, and it was closed for a holiday. There's always 7-11...
