Wonderful staff clean rooms the housekeepers are very nice and the front desk staff are very nice and helpful. No breakfast but they have a restaurant that open 24 hours that serves everything even has the best cakes and pies around. They also have a heated pool that's open all year. Read Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel. The lobby is classic and our Manor room was well appointed. We encountered two problems though. The front desk clerk was very short with us at checkin and seemed annoyed to answer our questions about valet parking. But, most importantly, our room was so very noisy at night. The walls are paper thin and we heard every conversation in the neighboring room. Also, the doors in our hallway closed with a loud bang every time a guest closed their door. It was one of the worst nights of sleep we have ever encountered in a hotel. At checkout the clerk did not greet us except to ask if we wanted our receipt printed or emailed. No “How was your stay?” was asked. We chose not to complain to her at checkout as she didn’t seemed concerned about us as guests.FromIDR 1,973,691

The location is a bit out of downtown really and shady. There were a few panhandling & such, just outside the hotel. The room was okay, in need of minor repairs & reclean. Since we were only staying one night & it’s a super busy weekend, we dealt with it. The blackout shade was very cute but don’t expect it to actually work! No bugs or anything. Our first room had not been cleaned, and the bed had not been made.
The second room had apparently been previously rented to a smoker. The smell was overpowering.
Our third room had an unpleasant odor but, by this time, we were ready to give up. We accepted the room, and spent the night.
The continental breakfast was closed due to the Coronavirus. Instead, we were given a sack with a muffin, a fruit cup, a granola bar, and a bottle of water.
Th his was our 4th stay at this hotel. Our previous experiences had been excellent. We will, however, be looking for different accommodations in the future.FromIDR 1,393,919

This hotel was in a wonderful location. We were in walking distance to lots of good eateries, the aquarium and the river walk. The front staff that we encountered were always kind to us and helpful. We booked a double room and it was nothing spectacular about it. Clean but not spotless. It was comfortable enough to enjoy a weekend getaway as a family. I did notice there was some sort of pink stain in the tub and some shed hair…I just cleaned it out before we used it. The WiFi was good, so we were able to do homework and check emails. The hotel is old, especially the carpet has a damp smell and feels not clean. But its location is very good, the parking lot is large, the room is large, the service is good, the breakfast is good, because of the familiarity, I have lived here many times. Once I stayed at the Marriott Hotel next to me. Although it was luxurious, the room was small. I also reported two fire alarms in the middle of the night. We LOVED this hotel!! The location was perfect! Near the aquarium, rock city, Ruby falls, etc! The valet was super convenient and quick. Every single person that worked at the front desk during our stay was INCREDIBLE. They went above and beyond and we’re very kind & knowledgeable. We also ate at the Brazilian steakhouse, Rodizio and they were great!! All in all this was a perfect place to stay for a perfect trip!!!

In the middle of the middle of the winter, a terrified fire alarm was reported twice, and two whole-floor broadcasts required to go downstairs, but the results were systematic errors. The worst thing is the alarm flash and alarm sound in the room. After the alarm was lifted, the hotel could not be closed. After changing the room, the flash was gone but the alarm sound was still there, until 5:30 in the morning. Seriously affect the child's interview the next day. Wasn't speaking to any of us seated at the bar. No name tag. No greeting, or true service. Ordered wings for dinner. Arrived on plain plate, cold, side container of dipping sauce. Not impressed. No offer of ”anything else?” etc. Turned TV's onto sports but no volume. As if anyone is into leg volleyball? Indoor pool is UNHEATED, slick flooring as is the pool deck. Could not enjoy it at all. Pool needs to be declared UNHEATED! Had to interrupt desk clerk at checkout (she was texting on her phone). No questions as to how was stay, etc. Very disappointed, needless to say. Hotel room was clean and sanitized. We appreciated the sanitized remote in the clean bag as well. Receptionist was very pleasant and gave us great dinner recommendations. We did not use the pool or gym but looking at the facilities they rate very good for the hotel class. FromIDR 1,611,025

Bed was not clean. There was hair and food crumbs on the sheets! Front desk clerk was very nice and brought us some sheets. She said that she was the only one at the hotel so she couldn’t send anyone to change the sheets for us so we had to change our own bed!
Around 10pm after we had gone to bed, we started hearing someone running and jumping around in the room above us. We waited patiently for about an hour to see if they would settle down but finally had to call front desk and complain. Desk clerk said she would take care of it and after a few minutes the noise stopped. Didn’t get back to sleep until after midnight.FromIDR 1,823,197
