We had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Gothenburg. The location is one of its biggest strengths—just a short walk from Gothenburg Central Station, making it extremely convenient for trains, airport buses, trams, and exploring the city. Breakfast was great, rooms were clean, gym was modern.

This was my fifth time visiting Gothenburg, and each time I've stayed here. Last year, the hotel underwent renovations and changed its name, but it's still as comfortable as ever. The location is excellent, with plenty of dining and drinking options right downstairs, and you can easily walk to most places in the city. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk from the central station, which made getting around very convenient. However, I was disappointed by a few aspects of the stay. The hotel provides grey towels, which I found unappealing; white towels generally give a better sense of cleanliness. Breakfast was adequate, though some of the fruit offered was of poor quality. I also had concerns about the room’s cleanliness. After our first night, it didn’t seem like the room had been thoroughly cleaned — the drinking glasses we had used weren’t replaced, and some visible stains we had accidentally made were not wiped down. Additionally, the iron in the room tripped the power on both occasions we tried to use it, which was quite frustrating. The refrigerator in our room wasn’t working properly, so the drinks we stored inside remained warm. I also found the 11:00 a.m. checkout time to be inconvenient, as a later checkout would have allowed for a more relaxed departure.

My stay at the Scandinavian Crown Hotel was a wonderful experience! The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to the central station, a godsend for travelers with luggage. Whether you're taking the train to the airport or visiting the city's main attractions, everything is easily within walking distance. The lobby is designed in a minimalist Scandinavian style, spacious and bright, with a very chic social space. Our room, while not particularly large, was impeccably clean, and the bed was the perfect firmness, ensuring a good night's sleep. The windows were also well-insulated, so despite being near the station, it wasn't noisy at all. If you're looking for a hotel that's conveniently located, offers great value, and is comfortable, the Scandinavian Crown Hotel is definitely a great choice!

We arrived at 7:30 pm and were told we got a room “upgrade”. The room was small so we really wondered what the “original” room looked like. The bed had stains on the cover that was laid under the mattress which didn’t look good. We went down to the lobby and found nobody present. We moved on to the restaurant, it was 8 pm. Half full and we were met with the wonderful advise that they were closed for service. This was Friday May 16th and the menu board was still at the entrance door to the restaurant. We went back to the reception and queried why the restaurant was not serving dinner at 8 pm on a Friday. The receptionist looked dumbfounded and told us it usually serves dinner at least until 9 pm but she took no action to assist us except to say we could walk fir 15 minutes to the Aveny, a street with lots of restaurants but could not suggest any close by. We ended up going to, as it happened, a fantastic restaurant right around the corner called Le Pigalle on the top floor of, we guess, a competing hotel. Fabulous meal in a restaurant that knew how to treat their guests. In short we have regretfully no positive things to say about the ProfilHotels Opera in Gothenburg. Gothenburg was fantastic but when we return we will definitely not book at the Opera which is overpriced for the standard and service they offer. Total waste of money at this venue. Regretfully we did not bother to take any pictures of the place as it is nothing we wish to remember about it.

Loved the location of this hotel as well as the downstairs communal areas. Also the size of the room was great. Unfortunately the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and cheap so I barely slept a wink in my 3 nights there. I asked for an extra pillow as you only get one and that still didn’t help. Staff were lovely when I did speak to them, but you can easily go by your whole stay without talking to someone which is a shame as you don’t get told any information. There was also no fridge or safe in the rooms which I thought was pretty standard. Food at the breakfast buffet was really good though. Great options for vegans/gluten free too.

Room amenities were also very convenient, including free Wi-Fi, a TV, refrigerator, and hairdryer. A fitness room and swimming pool were also available, both modern and perfect for a relaxing workout. The breakfast options were varied, offering both Chinese and Western options. Whether it was freshly made omelets, salads, hot dishes, or desserts, they were all delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the dining area was clean, and the atmosphere was pleasant. This stay was a very relaxing and satisfying experience, a truly memorable one. The service, ambiance, and dining all met and exceeded expectations. The staff working on the weekend were super nice and helpful, and I’ve stayed here many, many times, always so nice & such a lovely boutique place to stay with many awesome things to like. On the day I checked out oh my god, where did this girl suddenly come from? Little wanna be Swedish police officer banging on my door trying to get in. Ok i fell asleep after breakfast? So what. Even after i checked out & and was just having a coffee in the lobby, she came again in my face demanding to know if i had checked out? She was just rude, unprofessional, behavior was unbelievable. Really ruined my experience at the nice hotel Pigalle. Actually, I don’t accept people thinking they are better than everyone else & they think that they can just talk to people like they are a piece of crap. Therefore, sadly, I don’t think I will ever stay here ever again.. Sorry but..

Stayed for one night only but wouldn't have minded staying longer. Room is well-lit, small but comfy and definitely fine for one person. Breakfast was pretty good and had a good variety of options, just a bit crowded (understandably so because I think all bookings include breakfast by default). Luggage storage is free but not super secure; the front desk locks the storage room but then you place and take your own bags from inside, so there's nothing stopping someone else from taking your bag. Location - need to take a bus to the train station; also not much in the immediate vicinity.

Gothenburg (pronounced ”Gothenburg” locally) It is a distance from the central station, but if it is a bright time, take the tram number 9 from the tram stop near the information center and take the Stenpiren tram stop. Get off at and walk for a few minutes. A taxi costs about 200 SEK (a little over 2000 yen, depending on the taxi company). Is the boarding time about 10 minutes in each case? The exterior was under construction when I went, but the lobby and the atmosphere of the room were satisfactory. The front desk is also friendly. ^ --^ Please note that there is a deposit here (because there are paid drinks in the room)! The breakfast was well kept warm and the taste was delicious.

The hotel was super safe, the location was absolutely perfect. I went here for a short three day vacation. The service and stuff were absolutely fantastic. Everything was smooth, everything was run using high-tech systems. The lobby was beautiful and there was plenty of amenities available. The only negatives that I would recommend for them to improve on is first of all to have a system or telephone in the room so that we can call the reception. The other thing is that rooms that are king size bed are actually two single beds that are put together which can be quite annoying sometimes. Other than that, honestly, I can’t complain much. I would definitely come back here again. I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Sweden for a few days for business or pleasure

Just nearby to a shopping mall so OK for essentials / fast food. Very good hotel, we booked a deluxe double room, the room is facing the street, very big and beautiful. The room rate includes breakfast and dinner and Fika cake in the afternoon. It is very cost-effective. The breakfast is very rich. The dinner is relatively simple. There is a meat dish (change every day) and a fixed salad, but the taste is good. Don't worry about eating every day. The location of the hotel is 6~ 8 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station. There are many cars at the tram station opposite the train station to go to various attractions. The bus station next to the train station can take the airport bus to the airport, which is more convenient to travel. There is a Coop next door to the hotel for easy purchasing daily necessities. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, helping us solve the shower use problem, and on the last day, we also helped pack breakfast in advance due to our early check-out. In short, it is highly recommended to live here.

Frankly, I'd seriously recommend anyone reading this review to steer clear of this hotel for the time being. The hotel's location is good, right across from the city center train station, with many attractions and commercial facilities within walking distance. However, there's a massive transportation hub construction site directly downstairs. The traffic routes and facilities haven't been updated in navigation apps, making the road conditions absolutely chaotic – seriously, don't even attempt to navigate it. Also, I have to complain about the room. I never expected it would be so small that it couldn't even fit a single table, which was extremely inconvenient. Other aspects were quite good, especially the breakfast and service, which were impressive.

Completely exceeded expectations; the best value hotel for my European trip, bar none. First, the room was surprisingly large, with two desks, a small round table, a large bed and sofa bed, a spacious bathroom, and a kitchen. Breakfast was decent, the buffet dinner was average, but considering the room rate included breakfast and dinner, it was incredibly generous. After all, in expensive Scandinavia, getting a free dinner is a welcome treat. Cozy hotel with friendly personnel, and an okay single room. It wasn’t large, but it was clean. More than good enough for the two nights I stayed there. But it was in need of maintenance though: the doors and such were quite badly damaged. I’ve added breakfast to my booking, and this was really good! Lots to choose from, and delicious. One complaint: the rooms facing the street are not soundproofed enough in my opinion, too much of the noise of the quite busy road outside came in😕 Would stay again though, and I heard the double rooms are less noisy as these don’t face the street.

This hotel is also our favorite hotel, right on the pier, can eat breakfast to see the sea, very comfortable. Breakfast is also a typical Swedish breakfast, I like it anyway. The room is small, compared to other hotels. I think the extra bed is allowed, parking is very convenient. There is only one question I need to remind everyone, if English and Swedish are not very good, I do not recommend this hotel. Our plane arrived at Gothenburg Airport at eleven o'clock in the evening and arrived at the hotel is already twelve o'clock. The hotel did not have a reception desk, the door was closed, we were lucky, just one of the guests came back, we went into the door together. Then you see the hotel in Swedish message saying that after 11pm, you check in to call the hotel, pay attention to the Swedish phone number. Respond to you saying that your room key is in a box at the front desk, then you open the door with your own key to sleep. Very European-style hotel management, most of the in-house guests are foreigners. It is recommended that guests booking this hotel should check in during the day.

Staying at Clarion Hotel The Pier in Sweden turned out to be one of those experiences where you feel at ease almost immediately. There’s a certain warmth to the place that makes it stand out from the moment you walk through the doors. Friendly Staff Who Truly Welcome You What I noticed right away was how genuinely friendly the staff were. Every time we entered or walked past the front desk, we were greeted with a smile or a kind word. It’s such a simple gesture, but it created this feeling of being looked after, as if we were more than just passing guests. A Location That Balances Quiet and Convenience The hotel’s setting struck the perfect balance—peaceful and quiet, yet still so easy to get into the city center. It felt like we had the best of both worlds: calm evenings by the water, and the city’s energy just a short ride away. Beautiful Skyline and Water Views From the hotel, the view stretched across the skyline and the water, and it was just lovely. Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget. A Studio Room That Feels Like Home Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped. A Breakfast with Heart Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day. Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal.

If each check in staff in other hotels would be like him, they’d do well. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom very clean and bright, very well lit. The breakfast also very good, you can also get free cake and coffee throughout the day. Small but impressive hotel, very happy with the choice this time.

Gothenburg is also a very beautiful city; I especially recommend the Gothenburg Natural History Museum and the Space Museum.

Because we travel with rented car so the location is not really a problem. They do provide private parking with additional charge which the staff at Front Office provided the information and explained very well. The room itself were fabulous. Everything is still new and all the tools are provided including kitchenette, washing machines, hair dryer, plates, cups, cutleries, and all the coffee & tea. The price was also very decent.

Very comfortable, and conveniently located close to the train station and the airport shuttle. There's a supermarket right across the street, and it's next to the Lipstick Building and the pier. The room was very modern; after staying in so many hotels in Europe, this is the first time I've experienced such a modern and smart-style hotel! The front desk staff were friendly, but the self-check-in was a bit tricky to operate. It would be even better if there was free drinking water available in the lobby.
