The small quaint boutique hotel in St Julian’s is absolutely stunning and equally as comfortable. Although it is smaller than normal hotels it has all the luxuries more than usual hotels. The decor is chic and modern. The room we stayed in was very clean with comfortable with under floor heating which was so pleasant coming out of the shower. The view was amazing from our room and breakfast was well varied. Lots of great restaurants and nightlife in the surrounding area; everything within walking distance.

Just came back from a girls’ getaway at The Westin Dragonara Resort and it was absolutely amazing! 💃🌴 From the airport, we took a bus that dropped us right in front of the hotel 🚌 — super convenient!
The hotel is located right by the sea 🌊, with a heated pool 🔥, a beautiful terrace with direct access to the water, and stunning views all around 😍. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and spotless 🛏️✨ — just pure comfort and style.
Service was truly 5⭐️+, everyone so kind and professional 💫. The food was delicious 🍝🍷, and we loved being able to order right from our sun loungers using a QR code 📱 — they brought everything straight to us. Total relaxation! 🥰
The location couldn’t be better — close to nightlife 🎶🌙, restaurants, and bars. We were just a 5-minute walk from the old town area where everything happens. Perfect for a fun night out with the girls! 💃✨
The weather in October was just ideal — not too hot, not too cool, just perfect for chilling by the sea and exploring ☀️🌤️.
I’m 100% sure I’ll be back here next October — same time, same place! ❤️

The hotel is in a great location with a beautiful sea view and is relatively quiet despite being in a busy area. However, the road leading to the hotel is very noisy and the traffic is quite bad. Also, the sea view from the family room is angled rather than a direct, front-facing view.
The facilities are fairly standard, but the ice machine experience was terrible. After using it on the first day, we found that the remaining ice cubes contained a lot of black impurities and some unidentified debris, which was quite disgusting. Even after trying again, the issue persisted.
The hotel pool was not very clean, and there is no jacuzzi. There are only two massage jet switches inside the pool.
The breakfast quality was average. The cold cuts were not very tasty, and most of the fruit seemed artificially ripened and didn’t taste good. There were limited options that were actually enjoyable. Local specialty snacks often seemed to have been reheated multiple times and were tough to chew, indicating poor quality control. The omelette was only well made on one day, when the chef prepared it properly in a half-moon shape. On the other days, it was more like a plate of scrambled eggs mixed with various vegetables, which felt quite perfunctory. After a few days, there was very little left worth eating.
However, I was very happy to see the sunrise on the last day—it was absolutely beautiful.
Great location. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean. However, the bathroom was outdated and needs improvement, especially the toilet flush button. It required a lot of force to press each time. The sink tap got similar problem.
First time in Malta and not just a great location to explore from but an amazing hotel stay too! From the moment we stepped in the, the staff were always pleasant and always helpful. Sopo, at breakfast ensured we had what we needed and Mina was fast to offer her assistance! Pradeep would make sure we were satisfied with our food and always took care to tell us what was where.
The room was clean and very spacious. We had no issues!
The hotel is in a fab place to explore with a lot of amenities near by. I would definitely recommend Intercontinental and would defo be staying here again.
Overall it was good There was a good selection for breakfast but the hot food was always cold. Spa facilities were good but on the day we are the jacuzzi didn’t appear to working on subsequent days some groups seem to stay in the jacuzzi for long periods of time even though it stated it should be used for 15 minutes when we brought this to staff attention nothing was done on our last morning there was constant drilling noise from early in morning not what you expect in a 5 star hotel
I’m had a single room with balcony and sea view booked. The location was great - Valetta a bus journey away as was Mdina and Rabat. Bus service is excellent.
The room was adequate for me. However the noise from the road and downstairs bar was not good. Glass doors ineffective for noise screening.had to buy earplugs. Also the cleaning was sporadic and I had to ask everyday for my room to be cleaned, despite a sign on the door. I was told they have until 5 pm to clean rooms - really! I also found a cockroach in the room.
It was really reasonable cost but would not pay the hiked prices in summer and no, would not stay again.
Me and my partner stayed here for a weekend getaway jacuzzi suite. Absolutely amazing it couldn't be any better loved every moment of it. Breakfast was phenomenal, service over all 10/10. It's on a strip so you will hear music at night , didn't bother me at all. Lively, will definitely love it if your a party person. There was a slight smell in the hall ways aswell but once again it didn't bother me. Highly recommend beautiful hotel. I can't find words to describe how beautiful it was.
The front desk staff were very responsible and gave us a room we were really happy with. The housekeeping staff were friendly, and the hotel's location is excellent, very close to the bar street. The restaurant staff enthusiastically explained the food layout, cleared empty plates promptly, and were always smiling and welcoming. The breakfast was rich, with champagne, blood orange juice, and freshly made omelets available early in the morning. They offered several types of cheese, and the fruits, bread, meat, eggs, and milk were all good. Outside, there's a rocky beach. Bus number 14, just 2 euros, takes you to Valletta old city. A fantastic stay!
The location is great, close to the beach and restaurants. The breakfast was tasty and with lots of variety. The only downside is the proximity to bars and nightclubs, which can get quite loud at night.
Nice hotel and breakfast. Excellent location on the bay. Room had issues with shower overflow. This is a design flaw in room #338 and can be seen from the blackened door caused by consistent flooding seeping up into the door. The bathroom could be improved by providing a soap dish for the sink, somewhere to put soap and shampoo in the shower. The toilet flush is particularly hard and would be a problem for children or the elderly. A safeyt hadnle in teh shower wodl also be a good upgrade.
The location is fantastic, making it super convenient to get around. The balcony offers a breathtaking view of the sea. While the breakfast selection is a bit limited, it's still decent. The hotel itself is a bit dated with older facilities, but it's acceptable. I really enjoyed my stay!
Had the best time in Hotel Valentina!! The staff were friendly, most importantly Jelena. She took her time showing us the difference in the rooms available and we were glad to make an upgrade, our rooms were cleaned every single day without requesting cleaning services to do them. Location wise, it was perfect, central to happening spots around St Julian, all within walking distances. The free Prosecco for my birthday and cocktail on arrival was an extra touch. Also, our bags and valuables were safe all through our stay.
Overall, an incredible experience!!!! 5 stars across boards 👌🏾🙌🏾
I had an amazing stay at this hotel, even though it was just for one night—I truly wished I could have stayed longer because of the warm and impressive welcome. I want to give a special shout-out to the front desk staff member with blonde hair. Her manners were exceptionally graceful, she was extremely helpful, and went out of her way to assist me in every way. I sincerely thank the hotel management for having such outstanding staff. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, tranquility, and wonderful team.
The staff was very friendly and helpful but breakfast hardly selected then rooms have spiced after distant fat and food in the morning.
The pool was small but acceptable
Elevator disaster has taken too long to have used the stairs was very obsolete
Location was mostly expensive with Uber and Bolt
The beach is away from the hotel.
The cleanliness of the room was very good; everything was tidy and well-maintained. I also want to give a shout-out to the lady at the front desk: since I don't have a credit card, she went out of her way to find a solution for the deposit, even though this wasn't clearly communicated beforehand.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives, making the stay very stressful:
* **Poor Soundproofing due to Connecting Door:** There was a connecting door between my room and the neighboring room. I could hear every word my neighbors said – privacy was unfortunately non-existent.
* **Misleading Air Conditioning:** The central air conditioning didn't work and was also very complicated to operate. After I complained, I was promised that someone would look into it. The fact that they simply put a fan in my room instead felt disrespectful, as I explicitly booked and paid for a room with air conditioning.
* **Incomprehensible Balcony Rule:** The room has a balcony, but smoking is prohibited on it. You have to go all the way to the 8th floor to the reception area to smoke. This is illogical and extremely inconvenient.
* **Lack of Information Regarding Deposit:** Although I had already paid everything in advance via Trip.com, a deposit (credit card or €100 cash) was required upon arrival. There was no prior information about this, which led to unnecessary stress during check-in.
