Lovely stay at Caption by Hyatt. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from Chinatown and the Capitol Theatre, making it a great base for exploring the city. The only minor downside is that the lobby is quite small, and there are stairs leading to the lifts, which may be less convenient if you have heavy luggage or a stroller. Overall, a great choice for a comfortable city stay.

We love Caption by Hyatt! Location is perfect; very close to Central Station and Chinatown, making it easy to get around with great food nearby.
Thank you Caption by Hyatt for even preparing a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary! We were surprised by your kind gesture :)

Facilities: A huge plus! It has a stove, microwave, oven, full-sized fridge, and a dishwasher! All the pots and pans are there too! You just need to head to the supermarket for meat and seasonings.
Cleanliness: Decent. We took out our own trash.
Environment: The location is fantastic! It's near Chinatown, and a Coles supermarket is right across the street. Even better, there's an Asian supermarket on the floor below Coles! You can find any meat and vegetables you could possibly want! I highly recommend the steak from Coles that comes with a small pat of butter! No need for extra seasoning, it's super convenient! It cooks up just like a restaurant steak!! However, the balcony in this room doesn't have soundproof glass, so it can be noisy at night, but once you're asleep, it's fine.
Service: Not much service. The email stated there wouldn't be cleaning. We had to go downstairs ourselves to ask for fresh towels. We also took out our own trash.
Overall, it's still pretty good and suitable for large families traveling together. Cooking your own meals is a great option! Downstairs, there are three Malatang places: Yang Guo Fu, Zhang Liang, and one more! You'll never go hungry. Grab a takeaway Malatang, then head to the supermarket to buy more vegetables, meat, noodles, and tofu to add to it – you can go crazy with the toppings!
Of course, we've also thoroughly enjoyed Sydney's local restaurants, steaks, and kangaroo meat! Western food is also delicious! Steaks, fries, pork ribs, and fish and chips! All good! Especially the pork ribs! They're perfect for kids!

If you prefer an apartment with kitchenette, you can consider this APX. In term of quality, cleanliness and space, Meriton Suites is better. Meriton suites also looks newer.
A lot of the cooking utensils have melted and not changed by APX.
Note that the hotel DOES NOT have extra bed even though you paid extra for an additional guest. The “extra bed” is actually a horrible sofa bed existingly exist in the room. It is not worth to pay extra and what you were given is only a horrible sofa bed. We did not use the sofa bed at all because it is very uncomfortable, you could feel the spring and the moment you sit on it, it became sunken.
The toilet is big.
Will we stay here again? No. We will stay in hotel next time. L

Excellent stay! The hotel is very close to the bay, and the night views are beautiful.

The room was great, and the hotel service was excellent. They even helped me receive and store a package beforehand. The hotel is very close to Chinatown, offering plenty of dining options nearby. It's also just 300 meters from the ICC exhibition center. Highly recommended!

I'm quite surprised this hotel has such low ratings, considering how good it is. The price isn't expensive, it's centrally located near Thai Town and Chinatown. The room was clean and had a fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook your own meals. The room wasn't as old as some other reviews claimed. There's also a swimming pool. The only thing missing was a washing machine in my room.
- Kukkiktec
Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The noise from the next room was really loud, and the sound of doors opening and closing was also very noticeable. Even the street noise was an issue. I wouldn't recommend it if you're sensitive to noise.

This Novotel Sydney Central hotel is incredibly convenient, located near the train station, making it easy to travel to various attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, and there's a great value specialty freshly ground coffee for only AUD 3. The overall environment is quiet, and the facilities are complete. It's suitable for both short trips and city tours, making it a worthwhile choice for your stay when visiting Sydney.
- Guest User
I wouldn't really recommend this hotel because it's quite a distance from the main attractions, at least a 15-minute walk. If you're here for city sightseeing, I'd definitely advise against it. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants nearby, so if food is your priority, then staying here could work.
It's clearly an old hotel that's been renovated; the facilities are dated, and the elevator creaks. Only the linens seem new. It's right next to the University of Technology Sydney, and the room itself is quite spacious. The beds in the twin room are also pretty large.

The room facilities were on par with a basic guesthouse in China. The hotel itself is quite large, with dozens of rooms on each floor, and the furnishings and design are similar to budget hotels in China. Before coming, I was really worried about hygiene because of many negative reviews online, but once I arrived, I found that they clean the rooms daily. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and effectively helped us solve our issues.
I was also worried about noise due to poor soundproofing, but we actually stayed for 7 nights and it was very quiet the whole time. Even though the hotel is next to Thai Town and near Chinatown, it wasn't noisy at all.
The internet, however, was really bad. You could only get a smooth connection in the common areas! The best spot for internet in the room was the toilet!
I hope the hotel can improve this, otherwise, it's a real deterrent for guests!
- Guest User
The location of this hotel is excellent and very convenient, and some receptionists was friendly and helpful during my stay. Basic amenities were provided in the room. There were many restaurants, stores nearby making this experience more simple. Trams and bus stops within a walking distance.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very disappointing. The room was not clean when i arrived and the housekeeping service was extremely poor. My bedsheets were not changed during my whole stay, and the staff did not even remove the used trash from the room. I also found a bug in the toilet. Another major problem was that there was no working Wi-fi at all. Reliable internet is a basic necessity for travelers and it was not available.
Overall, location and receptionists were great but poor cleanliness, lack of proper housekeeping, no Wi-fi made this a very unpleasant stay. I would not choose to stay here again.

Overall, it is worth it for its location and price within Sydney CBD. You can have a room of decent size without burning a hole in your pocket. While it is not a fancy hotel and has been refurbished, you can still see some dents and marks on the walls. However, it is clean and comfortable.
One thing to note: the hotel informed me that the reception would open at 7 AM. When I arrived, there was no one to be seen, and I didn’t have a data SIM that could make local calls. Eventually, I asked a friendly local to borrow their phone to make the calls. It was a bit inconvenient.

The hotel changed our room type due to renovations and provided two standard rooms with private bathrooms. The rooms were very clean. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. The front desk was always staffed, which was very helpful and friendly.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. During my trip to Sydney, I went to Brisbane for four days in between, and then returned to Sydney and checked back into this hotel. The floor was different this time, but the quality was just as amazing as before. I'm extremely satisfied and would choose it again if I have the chance.FromTRY 5,370

The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable – you can see it right from Central Station, and it's right next to Chinatown. QVB and Hyde Park are also within walking distance. However, this hotel is quite old. The first room we were given on the fifth floor was tiny and dark, with white fuzz and mold all over the air vents. The shower facilities were old and the water temperature kept fluctuating. Luckily, they moved us to a room on the eighth floor, which was much cleaner. It feels like the higher floors have fewer rooms and guests, making them more suitable for a stay. If you have high standards for cleanliness and environment, definitely avoid the lower floors.FromTRY 3,882

Great value for money, right on George Street! The room was very spacious and came with a washing machine and dryer, which was fantastic for the price.
**Cleanliness:** The room was very clean, but do keep in mind that as a serviced apartment, it doesn't get daily cleaning.
**Facilities:** It has a small kitchen, fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, and even dish soap.
**Location:** Being on George Street is super convenient. You can easily hop on the 'Ding Ding' tram or just walk to explore.

I would tell the toilet is as per review, yes it is small and narrow but it’s simply worth the price especially when you consider the location (2mins walk to Chinatown station and Haymarket (most cheapest market in Sydney), and measured few stations to Circular Quay and one station to Sydney Central Station! Well the room (pod) condition also nice, even though you can expect the space pod is small but it’s clean and the A/C, electricity and locker works perfectly fine. Will definitely book this hotel again next time if I were a budget traveller.FromTRY 1,301
