A Truly Memorable Stay at Ubuya Hotel 🌸 I absolutely loved my stay at Ubuya Hotel. Even though the hotel didn't respond to all of my request emails, they actually fulfilled almost everything I asked for — and exceeded expectations in so many ways. Mount Fuji View – Breathtaking! The room came with a full, unobstructed view of Mount Fuji, and it was truly awe-inspiring. The large window panels were spotless, which made the view even more magnificent. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained — exactly what you'd hope for in a luxury onsen ryokan. Facilities & Onsen – Excellent The public onsen was great and added so much to the relaxing experience. Facilities overall were clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully maintained. A5 Wagyu Dinner – Simply Outstanding What impressed me the most was the full-course A5 Wagyu Shabu-Shabu dinner. It was a true culinary journey — from appetizer, sashimi, generous portions of premium Wagyu, to dessert and fresh fruits. The quantity and quality were top-notch. Every dish was presented beautifully. Birthday Surprise – So Touching The staff surprised me with a lovely birthday celebration, including a special gift from the hotel. The next morning, they even handed me a photo of the celebration with a handwritten message — such a warm and personal touch. It really meant a lot. Breakfast – Delicious with a View Breakfast was served in a scenic spot with another incredible view of Mount Fuji. There was a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes — fresh, tasty, and beautifully arranged. Final Thoughts Ubuya Hotel gave me a truly unforgettable and emotional experience. From the majestic views, delicious meals, relaxing onsen, to their heartfelt service — I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and special stay near Mount Fuji.

I read quite a few reviews for this hotel, and many mentioned it was old, inconveniently located, and geared towards domestic travelers, so I didn't have high expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The room furnishings were a bit dated, but not dirty or rundown; they were actually very comfortable. Although the weather turned cloudy after I checked in, I still managed to catch some stunning sunset views. Because it was New Year's, there were a lot of Japanese guests; at dinner, I was surrounded by older Japanese couples, and it felt like there were more Westerners than Chinese guests.

The room was absolutely beautiful, especially with the stunning view. It was truly worth staying here. The lobby pool, in particular, faces Mount Fuji, and the sunset was like a painting – incredibly scenic. Sitting by the entrance, soaking our feet and enjoying the view, was so relaxing. Plus, there's complimentary afternoon tea. Dinner was served in our room, and the service was excellent. The hot springs were also great, with both indoor and outdoor options. The area isn't huge, but it wasn't crowded either. There aren't beds in the room; staff come in the evening to set up futons for sleeping, which was also a pleasant experience.

We booked this stay for the in-house public hot bath and the lakeside advantage. Check-in was smooth and fast with the staff providing a lot of information, events happening nearby and the different attractions. They spoke good English and was very helpful and informative. The room was disappointing though. It was old, no functional furnitures. The seat covers were very old and with stains. Tv was too small for the size of the room. No convenient outlet near, we used a outlet that was meant for a lamp. Bedding was comfortable though. It is based on traditional house style. The bath was wonderful, not crowded at all. Dont think its worth the price with its current fixtures and furnishing. Unless it was the room that faces the lake but for that they will charge extra.

There's a shuttle bus service to and from Kawaguchiko Station (approx. 10-minute ride). ❌ **Cons:** No lake view and a bit far from Lake Kawaguchiko. Getting around freely at night is extremely inconvenient; after major events like the firework festival, taxis are scarce, and walking paths are dimly lit and unsafe. The shuttle bus operates on a fixed schedule (usually until 7:30 PM at the latest), and there are no convenient alternatives if you miss it. Next time I visit Fuji, I'll definitely choose a hotel with both lake and mountain views 🏨

The shuttle service ryokan provides after 1430 comes very handy especially with luggages and kids standing in the cold. Saves the hassle of taking the red bus line. Every room has a view of fuji-san which is just amazing. U can catch the breathtaking sunrise and sunset view right in the room. Food is perhaps the other major highlight of staying at ryokans, and the food at Fuji Ginkei are mostly hits. The kaiseki dinner is so satisfying even though they are serving in small portions. And they tasted amazing. The ryokan also included small snacks for guests to enjoy in room with sencha. They even put together a small celebration platter for us! Highly recommended. 🙌🏻

It was great! The hotel was clean and nice. They have an onsen bath, breakfast, and evening drinks. The room was good too – clean, spacious, and not cramped. If you get hungry in the evening, you can easily walk to the shopping mall right next door to grab some food and browse around. A lot of Thai people stay here. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip. There's plenty of parking, but it's first-in-first-out.

The service was excellent, and the shuttle bus was very convenient. The location is great, close to the lake, and it's just a few minutes' bike ride to Tenjo-yama Park. When using Google Maps, make sure to enter the exact address, otherwise, it might navigate you to a different hotel. The fan blades of the heater need cleaning. Otherwise, everything else was very satisfactory.

I don't recommend it, especially since the bathroom was tiny and unclean. It's the worst onsen hotel I've stayed at in Japan.

Extremely satisfied with this hotel, it exceeded my expectations! **Facilities:** I saw some guests mention the hotel being old, but actually, the facilities are excellent. Besides the distinctive tatami rooms and rooms facing Mount Fuji, there's also the hotel's special hot spring. The outdoor bath has such a great vibe, and it's real hot spring water – my skin felt so smooth afterwards. **Environment:** There are absolutely no issues with the hotel's environment, cleanliness, or rooms; it meets a four-star-plus standard. You can see a full view of Mount Fuji within a 3-minute walk from the hotel, with both sunrise and sunset clearly visible. **Dining:** The hotel's breakfast isn't particularly varied; I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. Dinner, however, is highly recommended. It offers a good variety of Japanese specialties, and many people think it's much better than eating out. Some reviews recommend the Wheat restaurant in the hotel courtyard or the restaurant across the street, but the cost-effectiveness might not live up to expectations, and the actual standard could be quite different. **Service:** I didn't give five stars for service. The hotel's front desk offers Chinese service, and the Chinese staff are especially friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with no communication barriers. However, I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant staff, who I believe were Indian. Breakfast ends at 9:30 AM, and we thought we just needed to have our food by 9:30 AM and wouldn't get more. Instead, the server rudely told us to ”Go Out!” in an impolite manner while we were still eating our paid breakfast. These four stars are solely for the excellent front desk service. **Additional Notes:** If you have high standards for a hotel, want a hot spring experience, and wish to be close to Mount Fuji, this is an excellent choice. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and a few minutes from Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal, which is very convenient for returning to Tokyo or other places. The front desk service is fantastic; a big thank you to the Chinese lady at the front desk.

The service was great, with a shuttle bus to and from the station. The facilities were complete and very clean. I initially thought it might be a bit old, but to my surprise, it got better and better the longer I stayed. The hotel's location is excellent, and there's a rooftop observation deck with unobstructed views, perfect for photos. The highlight was definitely the breakfast and dinner; dinner included an all-you-can-eat grilled wagyu, and breakfast with views of Mount Fuji was also a delight.
